Player Operations: Player Personnel/Scout
The New York Red Bulls are one of 24 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS). RBNY, one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, have competed in the league since its founding in 1996. The Red Bulls play home matches at Red Bull Arena (RBA) in Harrison, New Jersey. RBA, a state-of-the-art 25,000-seat stadium, is widely regarded as the top soccer-specific stadium in North America. The club is owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull for which the team is named. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.

This position requires a dynamic, self-motivated, organized, energetic individual with working experience in Scouting at the professional, minor league and/or college level in soccer. The position focuses on the Red Bull New York (MLS) team, although it will also support NYRB II (USL) and the Red Bulls’ Academy. This is a full-time position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Required to perform the job)
  • Scout players through video analysis, and also travel to scout games in person
  • Individual video and data analysis of external players
  • Online and data research
  • Create scouting reports
  • Build up a scouting network
  • Manage scouting database
  • Support the Head of Scouting in organization
  • Assist Head of Scouting in video and data based projects as needed
  • All other duties as assigned by Head of Scouting

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Knowledge of soccer, former player, and/or coaching experience is required
  •  Have an enthusiastic approach to discovering soccer players for our club
  •  Possess excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills
  •  Experience in statistical analysis (preferred)
  •  Experience in scouting
  •  Experience in coaching and developing players
  •  Experience utilizing any performance analysis and video editing software is required
  •  Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  •  Strong attention to detail
  •  Candidate will be required to work varying schedules including weekends

  • Bachelors degree in Performance Analysis, Sports Science, or related area of study (preferred)
  • Coaching License (preferred)

  • Candidate should have work experience as a scout, coach, and/or performance analyst at the professional or collegiate level (preferred)

Due to the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules, including weekends, to reflect the business needs of the company.
