The New York Red Bulls are one of 24 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS). RBNY, one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, have competed in the league since its founding in 1996. The Red Bulls play home matches at Red Bull Arena (RBA) in Harrison, New Jersey. RBA, a state-of-the-art 25,000-seat stadium, is widely regarded as the top soccer-specific stadium in North America. The club is owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull for which the team is named. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.

The Accountant supports the business operations and finance department of the three RBNY legal entities.

  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as FedEx invoices, and document business transactions.
  • Prepare monthly commission reports for sales reps and insure timely submission for payroll.
  • Receive, reconcile, process and deposit all checks and cash from the Box Office.
  • Assist Chief Accountant with A/P, A/R and GL liaison duties with Finance department at RBNA. Help resolve open payables, missing information and any other issues as needed.
  • Process per diem requests and reconcile with Team Administrators on a timely basis.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies. 
  • Administer American Express credit cards issued to RBNY employees.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications. 
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. 
  • Experience working for a team, athletic department, or entertainment venue/event or preferable. 
  •  Ideal candidate ought to be entrepreneurial, professional, motivated and enthusiastic. 
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and external communication skills; ability to maintain smooth working relationships with all internal staff and management. 
  • Must be detail-oriented, ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely and professional manner, be well organized and able to prioritize efficiently, and have excellent oral and written skills.
  • Must be proficient w/ the following computer programs: SAP, Hyperion, Microsoft Office, and Adobe. 
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.

  • A minimum of three years of accounting experience is required.

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Red Bull from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.  Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Upon employment, the employee is required to fully comply with the Red Bull rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of company facilities.  Employees who violate these rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company.
