Nashville is America’s “It City” and a soccer city on the rise. From the CONCACAF Gold Cup to FIFA World Cup qualifying, Nashville is becoming a destination for the nation’s most prominent soccer games. Music City’s local team, Nashville Soccer Club, will be entering its third season after experiencing on the field and off the field success in its first two seasons. The Club is currently recruiting a Payroll Specialist as it prepares to open its new, soccer-specific stadium in 2022.

Position Summary
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the transmission of payroll transactions using a web-based payroll solution to ensure that all payroll related payments are processed efficiently and accurately. The Payroll Specialist will also support special projects and participate in accounting functions that arise.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Process regular payroll for 300+ part-time and full-time employees of Nashville Soccer Club
  • Oversee timekeeping entries and approvals for all non-exempt employees
  • Track and process commissions, bonuses, taxable benefits, and expense reimbursements
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to maintain and update all employee files in a confidential manner
  • Reconcile benefit deductions (including but not limited to 401(k) contributions, medical benefits, and voluntary insurance deductions) with billing from vendors
  • Prepare reports as needed for various projects including 401(k) and Workers’ Comp audits
  • Process requests for paycheck adjustments, retro amounts and final checks, as necessary
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of all payroll withholding accounts
  • Ensure all payroll taxes are properly deducted across multiple jurisdictions
  • Prepare and post all payroll entries to the general ledger
  • Reconcile monthly payroll entries as part of accounting period end close
  • Ensure compliance with federal laws, rules and regulations and keep up to date with current developments in these areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualification Standards
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in payroll preferred
  • Experience with iSolved and other Insperity products preferred but not required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment
