Communications/Community Relations: Broadcasting
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Manager of Broadcasting will assist the Vice President of Communications and the Broadcast team in creating a broadcast experience that will drive local, national and global support for the Club. This position has two major responsibilities:
· First, the Manager of Broadcasting will service our broadcast partners as well as national and visiting crews in the creation of compelling and engaging shows 
· Second, the Manager of Broadcasting will manage and execute all ancillary shows for the club’s broadcast partners
 
The Manager of Broadcasting will report to the VP of Communications.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and oversee all aspects of the broadcast production planning including the development of storylines, key messages and talking points, as well as the creation of all necessary materials (video, audio, graphics) for the different shows 
  • Partner with various production companies and personnel on all aspects of broadcast production
  • Serve as liaison between local and national broadcast partners, visiting club crews and league officials
  • Produce and manage all ancillary shows for the club’s different platforms (app, radio, television)
  • Assist with all game day responsibilities, both at home and away matches
  • Collaborate with: 
    • League/clubs broadcast partners on production and transmission
    • Production crew and other department leads on elevating club initiatives, new marketing promotions, and overall club feedback
    • Communications and other clubs to organize broadcast elements, rundowns, lineups, etc.
  • Quality control check all broadcasts, write weekly reports tracking changes, progress, sponsorship fulfillment needs, ratings/viewership and other pertaining updates
  • Support the Vice President of Communications in providing feedback to both talent and crew
  • Stay on top of sports broadcasting trends and work to be ahead of the trending curve
  • Invest in the professional development and career growth of the department’s interns and other staff as assigned 

REQUIRED COMPETENCY AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years producing and/or directing sports television broadcasts or webstreams
  • Passion: Finding unique storylines that connect the Club with audiences through our broadcast channels
  • Initiative: Ability to work independently and demonstrate a forward-thinking and creative way of working
  • Organization: Establishing priorities, defining action and setting up a workflow to achieve goals while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced multi-task setting environment
  • Interpersonal Relationships: Developing constructive and collaborative relationships with partners, talent and other departments
  • Digitally savviness: Experience with Adobe Premiere (or other NLE), Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator a plus
  • Analysis and reporting: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to evaluate data and information to influence plans and solutions while showcasing results 
  • Industry knowledge: Soccer and MLS knowledge a must
  • Languages: Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus 
  • Availability: Ability to work extended hours.
