Summary:
Nashville SC is currently seeking an innovative Creative Director to help build and grow a top-tier professional sports franchise in Music City. This role is responsible for conceptualizing, directing, presenting, and producing high-quality, on-brand creative across a variety of media including advertising, web, social media, video, mobile app, print, radio, outdoor, collateral, gameday experience, and more. This Creative Director is responsible for the oversight of the in-house creative team, workflow processes, budgets, and operational readiness of a Creative staff. This individual will be dedicated to producing the best storytelling creative through visual representation involving graphic design abilities on a daily basis. Ideal candidates will be a self-starter with a passion for sports, knowledge of Nashville culture, thrive in a fast-paced startup atmosphere, and have an ability to lead/grow a creative team while upholding brand in all aspects.
 
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Lead a highly creative, innovative, and responsible Brand and Design team to develop creative direction.
  • Produce and deliver creative product on a timeline, set creative parameters, and implement creative experience for Nashville SC with a focus on developing branded content and experiences across platforms at a high quality.
  • Work within budget to create and maintain a high standard for all branded creative and internal processes that reinforces brand vision, values, and positioning attitudes while delivering business goals and promoting a strong corporate culture.
  • Actively participate in graphic design and execute projects throughout the year, including template creation for use of both internal and external services.
  • Represent the Brand and Design team during company meetings, including but not limited to marketing campaign discussions, ticket sales and partnerships strategy sessions, stadium branding and production meetings, community relations planning sessions, and season ticket services planning sessions.
  • Lead photo shoots including prep, styling, and editing.
  • Own and ensure brand and league guidelines are adhered to and set the tone of brand/voice.
  • Remain current on industry trends and technology, including utilizing new advancements such as VR and AI.
  • Lead the conceptualization and production process to create highly efficient and effective marketing campaigns and materials with an ROI focus.
  • Manage internally and externally driven creative.
  • Exhibit strong leadership with a focus on ideation, project assignment, project management, and solutions.
  • Assist in the development of partnerships, sales, marketing, community, and PR campaigns.
  • Find, grow, and develop talent as a manager and peer. 
  • Other duties assigned by Manager.
 
Experience / Qualifications:
  • Holds a degree in a Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or design-related field with at least 3+ years of professional experience or demonstrated abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a creative team from concept to execution of projects.
  • Thorough understanding of principles of art, layout, copy, function, and target audience.
  • Clear communication skills and organization to grow internal and external client relationships.
  • Knowledgeable in sports, soccer, and the city of Nashville.
  • Ability to work on weekends, holidays, nights and travel 20% in addition to normal business hours.
  • Advanced skills in creative concepting, graphic design, videography, editing, motion graphics and Adobe Creative Cloud as well as familiarity with other design, web and multimedia software.
  • Ability to work through high-volume needs and being adaptable while meeting demanding challenges, deadlines, and Club goals.
  • Promotes a culture of innovation and strategic thinking with design.
  • Capable of interacting with all levels of the organization and represent the Brand and Design team.
  • Highly-organized, detail-oriented, and proactive with strong project management skills. 
  • Can effectively manage resources and prioritize tasks. 
  • Competent solutions-oriented thinker and problem-solver.
  • Passion for sports and experience working in a sports environment strongly preferred.
  • Online portfolio to demonstrate exceptional creative and technical skill.
  • Proven to accept challenges and learn on the job.
  • Connections to sport and youth culture preferred.
