Human Resources: Human Resources Generalist
Position: 
The Human Resources Generalist is part of the Human Resources (HR) Department for Minnesota United Football Club (MNUFC), a sports business located in the Twins Cities area of Minnesota and a member of Major League Soccer (MLS), the top tier soccer league in North America.
 
Job Description:
We are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join Minnesota United FC. As the Human Resources Generalist, you will have the opportunity to impact the day-to-day operations of MNUFC and creatively further our Club culture. In this role, you will be the subject matter expert, have strong knowledge of company and local processes and policies, and offer a credible and compelling perspective on HR-related matters.
 
This position will report to the Senior Director of People Operations, and is based in Golden Valley, MN.
 
As the Human Resources Generalist, you’ll be responsible for:
  • Supporting HR processes and initiatives including but not limited to: employee relations, compliance, and performance management 
  • Coaching employees and people managers on performance management and employee relations – helping to determine root causes and recommending appropriate next steps
  • Provides support and communication regarding the utilization of performance management tools & processes
  • Ensuring HR services are delivered in compliance with policies, procedures, and all applicable laws
  • Collaborating with HR Team to educate newly hired employees on HR policies and internal procedures / regulations
  • Aiding in developing, executing, and tracking annual mandatory training for the organization, including workplace conduct, harassment, and policy implementation
  • Executing change processes, policies, and programs to improve business effectiveness
  • Maintaining Human Resource Information System (HRIS) records and compiling reports from the database
  • Tracking industry evolution of best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR and employment law
  • Acting as the point-of-contact for all Workers Compensation claims
  • Updating and maintaining electronic and paper personnel records
  • Other duties as assigned

You should apply if you:
  • Have 3 - 6 years of experience with HR compliance, practices, procedures
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or an HR certification such as APHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP
  • Have strong business and HR acumen to navigate through a variety of HR-related issues utilizing your problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Are adept in your understanding of employment law and you aren't intimidated by legal jargon at the Federal, state, and local level; you understand the basic processes and can facilitate investigations, leaves of absence, ADA, and accommodations with tact
  • Listen to others and are sensitive to any communication style; others trust you and feel comfortable coming to you with all the information, so any rising problems can be tackled before they escalate
  • Are an expert in all things ADP Workforce Now
