As a Video Services Coordinator for Houston Dynamo FC and the Houston Dash, you will be a key member of a Marketing & Communications team that is tasked with being the best visual storytellers in professional sports. The Video Services Coordinator will contribute to all areas of video production process, including shooting and editing video features as well as creating motion graphics for social media, digital marketing and in-stadium content, website, and other in-house projects. 

The Video Services Coordinator will also be expected to contribute to the Club’s content ideation and planning process. We value creative thinkers and unique perspectives on how to tell our story, and we will look to you for ideas and opinions. Your role is not just to execute others’ stories, but rather to bring compelling story ideas to the forefront and be a part of the discussion of how best to tell them.

The Video Services Coordinator will also perform a variety of other production duties including some producing, writing, audio sweetening, graphic & animation development, conducting interviews with talent, photography, and scripting when necessary. This position will work within the Creative department under the direction of the Creative Director, and will work together with the video and design teams to create and maintain a consistent look and feel for all projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Shooting and editing video features as assigned, which may include marketing, communications, and sponsorship efforts in addition to team-related content for Houston Dynamo FC, Houston Dash, Dynamo Academy, Dynamo-Dash Youth Club and other initiatives
  • Engage in the entire video production process
  • Produce, shoot, and edit video for official team websites and social channels
  • Organizing video files and archiving game and event footage
  • Proactively produce content for all mediums independently as well as collaboratively
  • Creating fresh ideas and then following that idea to a finished product
  • Sound designing and sweetening when necessary
  • Working with various professional file formats for delivery
  • Designing animated graphics and titles when necessary
  • Operating various video camera equipment (Canon DSLR, Sony, GoPro, etc.) with the ability to frame shots quickly and accurately in various settings including, but not limited to commercial shoots, live sporting events and community events
  • Assisting other producers/directors with ideas that will help the editing process
  • Assisting or directing promotional shoots
  • Setting up film/video lighting for location OR studio/green screen shoots
  • Interacting well with talent/players when necessary
  • Travel for game coverage with team when necessary
  • Photographing events or game action, when necessary

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
 The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
 
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least one year of experience with multimedia content production, with an emphasis in video production
  • Knowledge of video production process: pre-production, producing, direction, shooting and non-linear editing
  • Demonstrated ability to produce content from start to finish under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency with professional video cameras. Experience with Sony cameras preferred
  • Comfortable with the Adobe Creative Cloud's video products: Premiere, After Effects, Prelude, Audition
  • Proficient with Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience with writing for digital and social media
  • Understanding of social media platforms including: YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter
  • Spanish language communication skills (writing and verbal) is a plus
  • On-air or on-camera skills a plus
 
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work and may require an understanding of staying connected and available to cover and address time-sensitive work-related issues that arise at any hour. Presence at events may be required. Some occasional travel may be required.
