Spring Communications/Editorial Internship
All internships for D.C. United are unpaid internships, however interns are paid for hours worked on game days. The internships allow the individual to gain valuable experience with a professional organization for their future in the sports, entertainment and marketing industry. Hours can be flexible to accommodate with your school or work schedule. Some nights and weekends will be required.
Communications/Editorial Production: D.C. United are looking for a communications/editorial intern to assist the Digital Media and Communications department. The communications/editorial intern will report to the Content Strategist and will assist with the day to day objectives of the Digital Media and Communications Department.
Job Duties:
  • Assist in writing, editing and publishing content for web 
  • Monitor site traffic and analytics  
  • Assist in developing storylines and writing articles 
  • Assist communications department with production of game notes 
  • Assist in coverage of D.C. United Academy 
  • Assist the communications department on game days to conduct and transcribe interviews, write articles and other related duties
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Applicants should be working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree with an emphasis in journalism, communications or related field
  • Excellent journalistic writing skills 
  • Experience covering a beat for school paper, magazine, online publication, etc.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to travel to various events around the community
  • Strong computer skills to include InDesign, Excel, Word
