About FC Cincinnati
FC Cincinnati is a professional soccer team that plays in Major League Soccer, having entered the league as its 24th team in 2019. The club’s wide and diverse ownership group is led by controlling owner Carl H. Lindner III; as well as managing owners Meg Whitman and Dr. Griff Harsh; Scott Farmer; and George Joseph. MLS invited Cincinnati to the league as an expansion team in May 2018, giving the club one of the fastest run-ups to its first-division launch in league history – 277 days from invitation to its first game. The team has played its home games at the historic Nippert Stadium on the campus of the University of Cincinnati, while its new soccer-specific stadium is constructed in the West End neighborhood of Cincinnati. 
 
When the West End Stadium opens in Spring 2021, FC Cincinnati’s future home is expected to be one of the most ambitious soccer-specific stadiums in not only North America, but the world. The $250 million, privately funded stadium will have a 26,000 capacity, with the closest seats within 15 feet of the field. The design includes 53 traditional suites and 4,500 premium seats throughout four premium club spaces. Additionally, the team’s famous supporters’ section, The Bailey, will grow to be more than 3,100 strong and loom over opponents at a 34-degree angle at the stadium’s north end. West End Stadium will meet all current requirements to host CONCACAF and FIFA events, featuring top national teams from around the world, including the U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams, as well as the world’s top club teams for friendlies. 
 
Purpose and Scope
The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for management and execution of the club’s digital, mobile and email plans, including production Club emails, updates to the app and websites. The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing meaningful and engaging customer journeys across our digital properties. Success will be measured by revenue, development of fan journeys, and ability to work cross-functionally.

Position Overview
The Digital Marketing Manager will be a key member of the FC Cincinnati Content team and will assist with the day-to-day management and execution of email, app, and digital properties. This includes all direct response platforms and front-end web development. This role will be supported by a creative development studio, Business Intelligence department, and a back-end developer. The Digital Marketing Manager should have a basic knowledge of web development and email marketing. 
 
The Digital Marketing Manager will work collaboratively with multiple departments to develop campaigns that grow the fan base and drive revenue.
 
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Content Strategy in creating, editing, and executing all website and direct response communications
  • Assist with management of all event day email communications and in-app messaging
  • Collect and assist with the management of the email content calendar
  • Monitor all digital and direct response campaign performance
  • Track performance of all campaigns and work collaboratively with BI department to ensure optimal performance
  • Grow the fanbase while increasing engagement
  • Work collaboratively with the Business Intelligence and Marketing teams to ensure proper placement of tracking across all digital platforms
  • Monitor mailbag and respond to fan communications in a timely fashion
  • Represent the club at league and federation events as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Content Strategy
 
Skill Requirements
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to excel in the position:
  • Proven work experience with CMS platforms and Salesforce
  • Understanding, knowledge and passion for soccer and the MLS
  • Ability to deliver direct to fan communications in a flawless and timely fashion
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, managing multiple tasks across multiple teams
  • Must be a team player
  • Represent the club in ethical and professional manners at all times
  • Excellent proofreading and editing skills
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Acrobat and Photoshop
 
Experience/Education Requirements
  • BS/BA in communications, marketing, journalism or a related field is required
  • 3+ years of full-time experience with a professional team, league of collegiate athletics department, preferred. In lieu of full-time experience, a series of internships that demonstrate increasing responsibility are acceptable.
  • Must have a valid Passport and ability to travel internationally
 
Match Day Responsibilities
The Digital Marketing Manager will have professional obligations for every FC Cincinnati game during the season, including preseason, regular-season, postseason and in-season tournaments. Additionally, any special events hosted by the club – including international friendlies and/or charitable or large-scale community activities – are included

Work Hours
In addition to normal business hours, weekend, evening and holiday work will be required as schedule and project workload dictates. Some travel, including international, may be required.
