Title: Chicago Fire Soccer Academy Scout (Part Time) 
Status: Temporary Employment (4 months) 
Reports To: Academy Technical Director

 Fire Juniors Directors of Coaching 
 Local Youth Clubs Director of Coaching 
 League & Tournament Technical Directors 
 State Association Director of Coaching 

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club is looking for a self-motivated individual who can identify talent for the Chicago Fire Soccer Academy. The expectation is that this individual will participate in the scouting operations for youth players aged 10 – 18 who have potential 
to play for Chicago Fire Soccer Academy at Toyota Park. The focus of this role will be on players based in the Chicagoland area and act on information and recommendations from all sources (Youth Programs, Community, Emerging Talent Program, Affiliates, Talent ID events) and ensure all relevant players can be adequately assessed by Chicago Fire Soccer Academy. 

Job Responsibilities: 
 Attend weeknight and weekend games on behalf of Fire Soccer Academy and gather intelligence on individual players 
 Record all scouting information on potential Chicago Fire Soccer Academy players 
 Create and monitor online database system with key information on potential Academy players 
 Work with Technical Director and Academy coaches to identify the positional/profile needs for each team 
 Compile an ongoing calendar of all relevant local youth club tournaments, fixtures, games and events that might be 
relevant from a scouting perspective 
 Form key relationships with all Fire Juniors affiliates, via the Emerging Talent Program (etp), to help assist in 
recommending players to Chicago Fire Soccer Academy and vice versa 
 Promote a positive club identity of Chicago Fire Soccer Club with players, parents, local clubs, agents and all other 
stakeholders within youth soccer in Chicagoland 

Other specific responsibilities include 
 Embrace Club Core Values (Excellence, Passion, Integrity, Competitiveness, Family, Discipline, Gratitude) 
 Compliance with the Club’s health and safety procedures 
 To maintain professional conduct always 
 Attend weekly staff meeting at Toyota Park 

 Previous playing and/or coaching experience preferred 
 Spanish speaking preferred 
 Knowledge of technical and tactical proficiencies of soccer and have an eye for talent 
 Proficient using PC, Apple and Microsoft office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point 
 Previous knowledge of USSDA and Chicagoland competition structure an advantage 
 Must be able to work nights and weekends 
 The ability to work independently 
 Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license 
 Must have an updated passport
