Position Summary:



The Community Relations & LA Galaxy Foundation Coordinator will support the objectives of the Los Angeles Galaxy and Los Angeles Galaxy Foundation (LAGF) by assisting with fundraising efforts, actively engaging with the local community and expanding the reach of the organization’s impact throughout the Greater Los Angeles area.  
The primary role of the Coordinator is to assist in the research, planning, and execution of a wide range of community affairs and philanthropic outreach efforts and activities.  This includes managing in-stadium and external fundraising efforts, a community partner ticket program, soccer clinics, annual holiday activities, and other related events.  Additionally, the Coordinator will maintain regular communications with external community partners and LA Galaxy Foundation Board Members while also interacting with other internal departments to execute club-wide programming. The Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Community Relations and LA Galaxy Foundation.



Essential Functions:



  • Assist in the planning and execution of LA Galaxy Foundation and Community Relations events and activities including but not limited to donation tracking/fulfillment and league-wide community relations initiatives.
  • Oversee LA Galaxy Community Partner Ticket Program, including outreach, fulfillment and match day support for all home matches (e.g. research community organizations for ticket distribution, ensure consistently high ticket redemption rates, troubleshoot any match day issues, etc.).  
  • Act as lead for LA Galaxy Foundation in-game fundraising efforts including but not limited to in-game auctions, equipment sales, and Name in Lights program.
  • Coordinate LA Galaxy Hero of the Game program at all LA Galaxy home matches ensuring regular interdepartmental communication and game-day preparation needs are met.   
  • Maintain relationships with Community Partners via match day activities/meet & greets.
  • Schedule and support LA Galaxy Community Soccer Clinics with both new and existing local youth soccer partners within under-served and at-risk communities.
  • Lead the LA Galaxy’s support of annual holiday programs including Dignity Health Sport Park community events such as the Easter Egg Hunt, Foundations Feast, and Treats-N-Suites.
  • Create a social media content calendar and manage communication for LA Galaxy Foundation as it may apply to the monthly newsletter and various social media outlets while ensuring content aligns with the priorities established by the LA Galaxy digital team.
  • Other special projects and duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:



  • A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency (BA/BS Degree Preferred)
  • 2-4 years related work experience in a similar field preferred
  • Experience with handling cash and management of case and credit reconciliation
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be a team player with a commitment to relationship building
  • Outstanding organizational and project management skills, with the ability to successfully handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Motivated and creative self-starter with the ability to adapt and prioritize in rapidly changing situations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); and ability to learn required business systems
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and events as business dictates
  • Background in fundraising is preferable
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
  • Experience working in community relations for a sports team or live events experience a plus
