FC Cincinnati is a Major League Soccer team playing at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. FCC began play in the United Soccer League (USL) in 2016. The club won the 2018 USL Regular-Season Championship in record-setting fashion and earned postseason berths in all three of its USL seasons. In 2017, FC Cincinnati advanced to the semifinals of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, a run that included victories over two MLS squads. FCC entered MLS as the 24th team in 2019 and opened the club’s privately funded, 26,000-seat soccer-specific TQL Stadium in the West End neighborhood of Cincinnati in 2021.  FC Cincinnati is an ambitious, disruptive club that is brand and fan focused, that embraces competition with a zeal for winning on and off the field, and where employees are held accountable for excellent execution of plans that build the club and serve the community.
 
Position Summary 
The Manager of Human Resources reports to the Senior Director of Human Resources and will assist with all HR related functions. This generalist role touches all elements of human resources including, talent attraction, retention, benefits, culture, diversity equity and inclusion, training and development, labor relations, safety and health and the development of, planning, implementation, and evaluation of human resource strategies, policies, programs.  This role will have an emphasis on coaching and development of staff and managers.  All work to be carried out in alignment with organizational core values and mission.  
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Contribute to efforts to create a culture that is welcoming to all 
  • Assist in managing the annual performance management process and provide ongoing guidance to employees and managers as needed
  • Assess company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives; develop programs and objectives as needed; conduct follow-up studies of completed training to evaluate and measure results
  • Train and coach employees and managers in employee development efforts 
  • Confidentially assist with employee relation matters as needed
  • Manage the employee HRIS database, prepare reports for FCC and MLS as needed
  • Work with accounting and finance in administering compensation and payroll
  • Liaison between HR, employees, and payroll manager; assist with payroll as needed
  • Participate in the recruitment process, including creating and posting job descriptions, scheduling interviews, interviewing candidates, and creating offer letters
  • Serve as a representative of the club at career fairs
  • Contribute to onboarding and off boarding of employees including conducting orientation meetings and exit interviews
  • Handle unemployment claims and employment verification requests
  • Establish positive working relationships with employees and vendors
  • Manage monthly employee newsletter
  • Ensure the adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and make certain that the interpretation and implementation of company policies and procedures follow state and federal laws
  • Inform and advise employees on human resources matters, such as policy and procedures, time off, and performance
  • Participate in a variety of TQL Stadium staff events including recruiting and training sessions
  • Manage and assist in various special projects and HR initiatives as required
  • This position is required to work home FC Cincinnati games, as such you must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as game schedule indicates
 
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent education and experience
  • 5+ years of Human Resources experience as a generalist or equivalent 
  • Proven experience in coaching, training, and development of employees
  • Successful experience recruiting and onboarding employees
  • Proven experience in handling employee benefits and employee relations
  • Knowledge of Greenhouse Applicant Tracking System, SparkHire and TeamworkOnline systems a plus
  • Knowledge of Paycor payroll and people management software a plus
