The Columbus Crew is seeking dynamic people interested in working with the stadium operations department. Operations assistants are part of the behind-the-scenes team involved with hosting high caliber events and operating each of our three facilities: Lower.com Field, Historic Crew Stadium, and the OhioHealth Performance Center. Assistants should be self-motivating, inventive, and driven to supporting efficiency in their work.
There are two roles for the Stadium Operations Assistant Position: Stadium Operations Assistant and Stadium Operations Event Assistant. The responsibilities of these roles are outlined below.
Responsibilities:

Assist with preparing the stadium for event/match days

Learn and utilize the setup and teardown of gate turnstiles and metal detectors for stadium events

Effectively communicate with guests to create positive and memorable experiences

Flexibility to serve in roles such as usher, security, or parking attendant while working events

Represent the Crew and MLS in all interactions

Other duties/tasks as assigned

Specialized responsibilities for Stadium Operations Event Assistant:

Encouraged to prioritize and be available for 1st team Crew matches, setup/teardown of concerts/other large events

Concert dates range from mid-May to mid-August

Specialized responsibilities for Stadium Operations Assistant:
-
Assist with special event changeovers
-
Work in tandem with all branches of the operations team, along with other departments in the organization

Read and interpret event orders, task lists, and venue software to effectively stage events with tables, chairs, risers, and other event equipment.

Assist with stadium equipment inventory and event checklists
-
Assist with off season preventative maintenance and stadium upkeep
Minimum Requirements:
-
Minimum of 18 years old and legally eligible for employment in the United States

Valid driver’s license
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for long periods of time

Must be able to work weekends, nights, holidays, and atypical hours
Desired Qualifications:
-
Prior experience as trained crowd manager or equivalent event role
-
Prior experience in stadium or facility operations
-
Ability to lift, carry, transport large items of 50lbs or more
-
Forklift certification
