Austin FC joined Major League Soccer (MLS) as the League’s 27th club in January 2019. Austin FC began competing in MLS in April 2021 and played its first match at home on June 19, 2021, in the new, 100% privately financed, $260 million, state-of-the-art Q2 Stadium.

Austin FC is actively seeking an experienced, detailed, and high-energy Events Manager to serve as the primary contact for clients as it relates to the planning and execution of private events in Q2 Stadium. In this role, you will provide outstanding guest service, manage staffing plans for events, and assist as needed on event day to ensure the stadium is show ready.

The position is based in Austin, TX. Austin has continuously been selected by U.S. News and World Report as a top city to live in the last six years, while Forbes placed it at the top of its “Cities of the Future” list.

You Will:

Lead planning and execution operations for all Q2 Stadium private events; and
Serve as main point of contact for clients following the booking and confirmation of private events. Develop plans and provide guidance as it relates to staffing, room set-up, load-in/load-out plans event timelines, etc. while maintaining efficient and consistent communication; and
Work alongside the Event Booking team through the sales process to provide insight and guidance to prospective clients; and
Develop and assist with expense projections through the sales and planning process. Maintain accurate projections and obtain quotes as it pertains to staffing, furniture rental, audio/visual assets, etc.; and
Maintain positive relationship with local vendors and establish consistency in renting furniture, décor, A/V equipment, etc.; and
Utilize event management software to develop consistent and thorough record keeping processes in order to properly track expenses against revenue throughout the year. Work with Event Booking team to create and maintain financial reports to identify trends, best practices, etc.; and
Curate and distribute manager-on-duty assignments for all private events and develop sufficient training and preparation materials. Serve as manager-on-duty as needed; and
Assist with planning, preparation and execution for Austin FC matches, and other full-stadium events; and
Lead Event Services part time staff responsible for set-up, conversion, tear-down operations. Help develop daily task lists and manage efficient stadium preparation; and
Assist in ensuring all stadium events are prepared, set-up, and operated in compliance with all applicable local codes as outlined by Austin Center for Events; and
Assist in the creation of the annual operating budget; and
Process payroll for Event Services hourly staff. Closely monitor to ensure adherence to budget and bring attention to excessive hours.

You Have:

Bachelor’s degree required
5 years relevant experience preferred
Experience within the sports and/or entertainment industry is a plus
English language proficiency is essential and Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus
Experience in developing and managing budgets, and analyzing costs
Working knowledge of local codes as outlined by Austin Center for Events
Working knowledge of Fire, Life, Safety, OSHA, and ADA rules and regulations
Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, knowledge of current technologies and commitment to remain up to date with industry best practices
