Intern – Advancement & Development|
Title of Position: Intern – Advancement & Development
Internship Date: Fall 2017 (mid-August – December)
Work Schedule: 8-10 hours a week flexible schedule, with availability for additional hours for events (possibly evening/weekend,) based upon the candidate’s academic schedule and the schedule of the Advancement & Development team.
USA Water Polo has a temporary assignment that provides training for the benefit of students interested in Olympic sports and non-profit sports management and administration.
Assist in aspects in planning and execution of two golf tournament fundraising events.
Event focus: procuring silent auction items and assisting in execution at event, event décor, on course activity, and day of execution.
Aid in the stewardship & solicitation of donors via mailings, events and hospitality.
Assist in improving the efficiency and organization of the donor management platform.
Assist in year-end campaign activation.
Proof of current enrollment in college or university.
Candidate should possess:
Interest/experience in non-profit/volunteer work
Events management/assistance experience
Comfortable with meeting and interacting with individuals and groups
Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
CRM database (or equivalent) knowledge a plus
Working knowledge of email & calendaring
Strong organization/multi-tasking skills and detail-oriented mindset
Ability to be a self-starter--proactive and flexible
Willingness to help as needed and be a team player
Own transportation & living arrangements
