Position:         Software Developer – Independent Contractor
Reports to:     Director of IT
Summary:  USA Triathlon strives to better our sport, and support our athletes, staff and the industry through technology. We are currently in search of an experienced Independent Software Developer to modify and maintain existing systems. 
 
Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement new software programs
  • Maintain and improve the performance of existing software
  • Clearly and regularly communicate with management and other independent contractors
  • Design and update software database
  • Test and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimization
  • Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer related field or equivalent experience 
  • 3+ years’ experience in web and software development
  • Demonstrated knowledge of web technologies and frameworks, such as Angular, Node, SASS, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Demonstrated knowledge of server-side technologies such as C# (or other C# style languages i.e. Java), Node, SQL, Entity Framework, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET WebAPI
  • Familiar with SOLID Design Principles, Testing (Unit, integration, front-end, etc.), Relational Database Structure and Optimization, and RESTful and SOAP Web Service Architectures
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively
  • Demonstrated understanding of projects from the perspective of both client and business
  • Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary
  • Strong attention to detail
