Communications Intern, USA Rugby Trust

Part time, mid-May through August 2018

The primary focus of this non profit internship is to support and assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of fundraising programs, appeals and events, writing for our website and newsletters, working with our donor database, developing social media and website marketing strategies and responding to general donor inquiries and requests.  Interns should possess a passion for philanthropy, sport, creative writing, strong computer skills and be comfortable interacting with high-level professionals.  Some travel may be required to attend domestic matches and/or events.

Responsibilities include:
  • Supporting the planning, execution and monitoring of fundraising events and appeals.
  • Assisting in content production by compiling stories and news pieces for various communications including website articles and newsletters.
  • Assisting in the creation and distribution of acknowledgment letters.
  • Assisting in the development of USA Rugby Trust's presence on social media (ie: Facebook, Twitter).
  • Assisting with planning and organizing fundraising events.
  • Executing office administrative tasks such as mailing, data entry, etc.
  • Responding to constituent inquires and providing information and resources as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned

Percentage of duties:
50% - Website, marketing and mass communication development
15% - Event and initiative support
10% - Customer service by email, phone and in-person contact
25% - All other duties assigned
