Position Description 
As an extension of the video department, this position requires a sophisticated visual storyteller who is able to create and assemble unique and compelling video pieces of varying length and topics using and contributing towards an extensive library of U.S. Soccer Federation footage.
This is a contract position at U.S. Soccer, contracted on an as-needed basis. Typical work hours and schedule will vary. Work locations will vary based on assignment (no permanent work location is required).
Primary Responsibilities
  • Film and edit video pieces to be used a variety of public facing communication channels such as the U.S. Soccer website, social media, and YouTube
  • Work closely with members of the content and communications departments internally to execute and deliver completed video for all elements of the organization: Men’s & Women’s National Teams, Youth National Teams, sport development departments and other business needs, as necessary

Minimum Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 3+ years of related industry experience and/or in a production studio environment
  • Experience working on production teams 
  • Proven ability and experience to manage a project individually from preproduction, shooting, lighting, sound mixing, and editing
  • Delivers high quality work and executes under pressure and multiple deadlines
  • Ability and willing to travel domestically and internationally (passport required) 
  • Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings & weekends as needed

Desired Qualifications 
  • Strong editing skills with an advanced knowledge of NLE systems (preferably Adobe Premiere Pro)
  • Unique vision and editing style with a thorough understanding of visual and narrative style
  • Impetus to push U.S. Soccer’s stylistic sensibility while staying within the boundaries of its well-established workflow and methods
  • Approaches project, data and studio management with high attention to detail 
  • Experience in the field with digital cinema cameras, sound and lighting techniques
  • Quick learner who can function well in the fast-paced environment mandated by professional sports
