Contract Details:
  • Contractor position (compensation will be applicant dependent)
  • Based primarily at the Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista
  • Contract Duration -  August 19th 2019 – August 31st 2020

Overview:
Is primarily responsible for supporting and assisting the Head Coach in coaching the Women’s Sevens team and providing specialist technical expertise.  In addition to these tasks the Assistant Coach will also play a supporting role in talent identification and development, analysis and pathway education.

Relevant Experience:
  • Minimum Level 300 Coach Certification
  • International 7s experience 
  • Minimal of 3 years specific Kicking  & Aerial Coaching
  • Minimal of 3 years in a HP coaching environment
  • Performance Analysis / Sports Code Background
  • Physical Performance Background

Core Competencies:
  • Technical Skills, Knowledge and Experience 
    • A proven and successful coaching background 
    • A strong/excellent strategic and technical understanding of the game 
    • Analytical skills – in relation to assessment of skill and performance including proven use of technology 

Leadership/People/Management Skills:
  • Proven ability to motivate all players 
  • Empathy and understanding of an individual’s needs regardless of background and ethnicity 
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills 
  • Experience in assessing and managing performance – particularly giving feedback to players 
  • Strong time management and organization skills 

Teambuilding and Teamwork: 
  • Demonstrated and proven success in developing a vibrant and supportive winning team culture 
  • Has effective working relationships with colleagues. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a senior management team member 
  • Readily and willingly shares information and supports the work of others. 
  • Works hard to resolve conflict
