Job Purpose:
The Compliance Coordinator will ensure the organization is  compliant with USA Rugby’s multiple stakeholders.  The Compliance Coordinator will collaborate with USA Rugby’s CFO to revise and review USA Rugby’s governance structure by liaising with USA Rugby’s Congress and prepare and assist with office process and procedure manuals.  They will also work with the VP of Rugby Operations to ensure USA Rugby’s compliance with World Rugby and the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee by administering various schedules, paperwork, and communications.  

Under the supervision of USA Rugby’s HR Manager, the Compliance Coordinator will also learn and assist in the management of SafeSport claims and ensuring USA Rugby’s adherence to the US Center for Safesports standards. 
Essential Job Functions:
  • Full comprehension of USA Rugby’s bylaws and governance structure
  • Interaction with department heads for the preparation of office policies and procedures
  • Assist in internal control reviews and audits from World Rugby and the USOPC
  • Regularly monitor USA Rugby’s Safesport intake and process claims with the US Center for Safesport promptly and confidentially
  • Coordinate with USA Rugby Departments to ensure that all Safesport policies are implemented and educate them on any changes 
  • Maintain USA Rugby’s Safesport Handbook and web content
  • Track USA Rugby’s Safesport Compliance by working with the Membership and Training & Education Departments
  • Compose compliance related correspondence, to internal and external stakeholders; including  World Rugby, the USOPC, and The US Center for Safesport 
  • Attend Quarterly Safesport NGB meetings either by phone or in person
  • Assist the CFO in Governance review and proposed changes by drafting Bylaw amendments and writing notices to USA Rugby’s Congress
  • Participate in monthly Congress calls and maintain awareness about the current topics and proposed Governance changes
  • Provide general project management and coordinate/control outcomes leading to desired goal achievement for various special projects assigned by leadership.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Effective communication—verbal and written

  • Highly skilled in all things administrative
  • Able to balance competing priorities calmly and with grace under fire
  • Experience with Dropbox, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft office suite, survey/questionnaire related software
  • Strong proactive problem-solving skills, organizational acumen and critical thinking
  • Excellent grammar, spelling, proofreading, editing and writing skills with an eye for detail
Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Social Work, Law, Communications or related field.
