National Events Intern
 Job Description
USA Diving, the non-profit National Governing Body for Diving in the U.S., headquartered in Indianapolis, seeks a NATIONAL EVENTS INTERN, to assist in the planning and production of USA Diving National Events. 

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with projects and ongoing event programs, including event planning and implementation. 
  • Assist in the general "look" of events through management of signage and related displays.
  • Assist in compiling the USA Diving events calendar. 
  • Coordinate logistics of designated events. 
  • Communicate with and assist Meet Directors and local hosts of designated USA Diving events
  • Assist with data analysis of USA Diving events
  • General event-related office assistance.

Support Director of Membership and Events on-site at USA Diving events as necessary in areas which could include:
  • Assist in the set-up event signage and décor at national championship events
  • Coordinate scoring table is running per established timeline and with required number of volunteers for each event
  • Assist with DiveMeets and Colorado Time Systems representatives to solve technical issues as they arise
  • Assist with the posting of start lists for each event and disseminate paperwork as necessary (announcers, judges, videographer, photographer) if volunteers are not available
  • Line athletes up for introductions and awards
  • Assist with medal distribution during awards presentations
  • Act as second point of contact for local organizing committee
  • Assist in the ordering and creative approval process of awards/medals for all events
  • Work with travel partner (or directly with hotel) to secure a hotel block for staff, medical and officials at National level events.
  • Manage staff, medical and official hotel block and rooming list for national events.
  • Book and manage staff, meet management and key volunteer travel for USA Diving National level events (including air travel and ground transportation).
  • Book and manage judges and medical travel for USA Diving National level events (including air travel and ground transportation).

    Qualifications:
  • Junior or senior in college majoring in business, marketing, sports management or a related field
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Energetic and detail-oriented
  • Previous experience in special events preferred

Terms:
  • Part-time (approximately 20-30 hours per week)
