Under general direction of the Director of Drugs and Medications, this part-time position assists the Assistant Director of Testing Programs in the execution, development, and implementation of policy in the office of drugs and medications regarding sample analysis, organization, and recording of samples collected as well as horse shows tested. This position prepares show packets to send to veterinarians assigned to conduct drug testing at horse shows, provides direct assistance to the Chief Administrator of the Drugs and Medications Program, reviews all FEI and Selection Trial drug testing, and maintains all records of Medication Report Forms filed at the horse shows.  This position may also assist with special projects and other tasks as needed.        
Assists in the execution of  analysis and organization of the drug testing performed at Horse Shows, including: 
  • Processing incoming show packets · Recording samples into AHSD · Assisting the Director in the processing of reports for positive findings· Alerting the Director or Chief Administrator of any issues that occurred during drug testing and Helping to answer drug questions. 
  • Performs secretarial duties to ensure the effectiveness of the Equine Drugs and Medications Program, including: Preparing show packets to send to testing veterinarians assigned to drug test
  • Performing various routine office functions
  • Providing direct assistance to the Chief Administrator 
  • Reviewing and processing medication report forms, and Reviewing and verifying all FEI and Selection Trial samples collected. 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Some college strongly preferred.  
  • Some working knowledge of the equine industry strongly preferred. 
  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel. 
  • Must have advanced recordkeeping and secretarial skills.  
  • Must be capable of operating general office equipment.
