Position Description 
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for payroll processing of all U.S. Soccer employees.  This position will ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.  This includes analyzing and resolving payroll-related issues, inquiries or discrepancies. 
Primary Responsibilities 
  • Prepare and process multi-state payroll on a bi-monthly basis for up to 300 employees, in 4 entities, using a third-party payroll system (currently Paylocity)
  • Point of contact for third-party payroll system (Paylocity)
  • Process off-cycle payments and manual checks as needed
  • Prepare journal entries and month-end close as it relates to payroll
  • Prepare payroll tax filings and process W2s
  • Provides payroll reports as required 
  • Research and resolve payroll issues, and respond promptly to all payroll related questions from employees
  • Support the CFO with audits (401k, compliance audits, etc), analyzing payroll data, and special projects
  • Partners closely with the Talent (Human Resources) department to optimize internal processes 

  • Degree in Accounting or Business
  • 3-5 years of payroll experience in multi-state environment
  • Payroll systems experience with Paylocity, ADP, Paychex, etc.
  • Proficient skills with Excel
  • Attention to detail and data entry accuracy
  • Strong customer service and communication skills to maintain relationships at all levels of the organization and with vendors 
  • Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings & weekends as needed
