Job Summary:

US Equestrian is committed to providing all of our members with safe, healthy, and positive sport participation environments. The Safe Sport Program Coordinator provides additional staff support as US Equestrian expands its abuse prevention programming. The Safe Sport Program Coordinator works directly with the General Counsel and Director of Regulation to provide administrative and program support for US Equestrian’s Safe Sport efforts. This position also provides administrative support for the General Counsel.

Essential Tasks/Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as the primary case manager for Safe Sport Policy and Code of Conduct complaints.
  2. Work with the General Counsel and Director of Regulations to provide communication to all relevant parties on progress and status of complaints, investigations, hearing procedures, appeals, and final resolutions. 
  3. Provide consultation to affiliates, members, trainers,coaches, athletes, volunteers, andparentsonSafeSportquestionsandconcerns.
  4. Work with the General Counsel to provide support to the Safe Sport Committee.
  5. Work with General Counsel to collect and synthesize feedback on safe sport efforts, engage in ongoing evaluations of programming and propose and implement new ideas. 
  6. Provide customer service for membership requirements: athlete protection training, pre-employment screening, and background check programs. 
  7. Work directly with affiliates, members, trainers, coaches, athletes, parents, and volunteers to increase understanding of Safe Sport.
  8. Provide support for the General Counsel on non-Safe Sport related matters as requested.

Job Specifications:

Associate’s Degree in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s Degree in paralegal studies, social work, or other related field required.

Experience as a paralegal, legal assistant or caseworker preferred. 

Must be proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Must have the understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality on sensitive membership information and complaint details.  Must be objective and compassionate.  Must have excellent organizational, management, communication (oral and written), problem solving, listening, and interpersonal skills.  Must have excellent attention to detail and follow through. 

Some travel may be required.
