Under the direction of the QA/QC Officer, the QA/QC Administrative Assistant controls and coordinates all drug positive files of the USEF Equine Drug Testing & Research Laboratory and maintains all records pertaining to drug positive reports generated by the Laboratory. This position compiles drug positive files for initial review by the Director of Drug and Medications Program (DMP), Legal Office, and the Laboratory Director before selection of a legal packet. Following initial review of the positive file and once the contents of a legal packet have been determined, this position compiles the final legal packet for review by the QA/QC Officer and subsequently the Laboratory Director.
In addition, this position assists in the implementation of ISO/IEC 17025 and monitors laboratory compliance through system audits and method/procedure audits; monitors the laboratory QA/QC inter-day and intra-day compliance through placement of internal blind samples and tracks and records results.
The emphasis for this position is on timely handling of drug positive files between the Laboratory, Director of DMP and the Legal Office with exceptionally high quality of work product, competency in word processing, close attention to detail, and consistency in preparing error-free positive drug packets.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or two years of college completed at an accredited institution of higher learning preferred.
At least two years documented secretarial or administrative experience required, including experience in word processing.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to type a minimum of 60 wpm. Must be proficient in the use of standard office equipment and MS Office applications such as Word and Excel. Must have effective data entry skills, excellent organizational skills, and strong oral and written communication skills. Must have strong attention to detail, be capable of working effectively with others, and have a good appreciation for deadlines. Must exhibit discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
Ability to sit for long periods, work at a computer for long periods of time, and lift up to 50 lbs.
