Under the direction of the Lab Manager - Chemist, this position performs wet chemistry benchwork, extractions, reagent preparation, and general laboratory tasks for the purpose of analyzing equine blood and urine samples, ensuring compliance with laboratory protocols, and effectively implementing Federation and Federation Equestre Internationale rules. This position is also responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and secure laboratory environment.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology or related science preferred.
At least one year of work experience required, preferrably in a Laboratory environment. Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience requirement.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Good analytical and problem solving skills required. Must have good organizational skills. Must work effectively with others.
Good manual dexterity required. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
