About Positive Coaching Alliance
Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) ( is a national nonprofit organization founded at the Stanford University Department of Athletics in 1998 committed to creating a Development Zone culture in high school and youth sports. PCA provides training to coaches, parents, youth athletes, and youth sports organization leaders on how to use the youth sports experience to teach young athletes positive character traits and "life lessons” and to develop not only Better Athletes but more importantly Better People! Through partnerships with more than 3,000 schools and youth sports organizations (YSOs), PCA has conducted 13,000+ workshops for leaders, coaches, parents and athletes on using sports to teach life lessons. PCA is headquartered in Mountain View (CA), with 18 Local Chapters around the Country.  

The majority of the Chapter Operation Manager (COM) role will assist in all efforts of managing and supporting PCA Chapter Operations for the Portland Chapter. The COM will report to PCA’s Vice President, Field Operations and Portland Chapter Executive Director(CED) Benjamin Dudley.

Duties & Responsibilities
To further the vision of utilizing youth sports as a vehicle for all youth and high school athletes to have a positive, character building experience.
  • Oversee and grow the Associate Board for the chapter
  • Serve as lead for chapter event logistics 
  • Help administer the Double-Goal Coach® and Triple-Impact Competitor® programs on annual basis.
  • Maintain proactive relationship with partners and clients
  • Provide administrative support to the Portland chapter 
  • Assist with routine tasks including: chapter email sends, chapter social media other event support including donor and supporter recognition and acknowledgement.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • A nack for getting things done 
  • Passion for the PCA mission is essential 

Preferred Qualifications 
  • College degree (preferred)
  • Past experience coaching or playing sports, and/or in sports administration
  • Occasional weekend or evening work may be requested
  • Previous experience in the non-profit field
