Title: Game Day Intern (2023-24 Season)

Reports to: VP, Finance & Business Operations

SUMMARY

The Las Vegas Desert Dogs launched on June 21, 2021, as the 15th team in the National Lacrosse League and began play in December 2022. The team is co-owned by Wayne Gretzky, Dustin Johnson, Steve Nash, and Joe Tsai. The team plays at Michelob ULTRA Arena located inside Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

The Las Vegas Desert Dogs are hiring highly motivated, reliable interns to assist in game day operations. The Game Day Intern position is geared toward college students interested in exploring a career in sports related and/or business industries. This position will have the opportunity to work in various departments including event preparation, promotions, ticketing, and partnership activations.

Game Day Interns MUST be available to work all Home Games during the 2023-2024 season, and MUST live in the Las Vegas metropolitan area.

JOB DESCRIPTION - WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Assist marketing with giveaways, sponsorship activations, pre-game, in-game, and post-game fan activities
Assist ticketing to staff the will-call tent and the services desk
Assist merchandising with moving merchandise into and out of arena on game days
Assist with setup and breakdown of gameday equipment/materials
Assist with other interns/areas as needed
Assist with home/visiting teams as needed
Assist with other events as requested (including pregame events, post-game events, and other team events)
Other duties as assigned

CANDIDATE PROFILE – WHO YOU ARE:

Must be at least 18 years old
Must have reliable means of transportation to and from games
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to successfully communicate with the public and other employees
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to work long shifts
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations
Ability to be prompt and dependable
Must have a driver's license and a clean driving record
Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment
Must display attention to detail
Ability to easily stand for extended periods of time and move up and down stairs

Travel Requirements

May be required to travel on some occasions (<10% travel); trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.

Work Environment

Works primarily in an indoor arena, but upon request will be expected to work outdoor events. Will be expected to attend games and other events on evenings, weekends, and holidays. This job will require extended periods of standing, and often will require lifting up to 50 pounds.
