The Charlotte Hounds, professional lacrosse team, is looking for a Sales, Marketing & Community Relations intern for the spring of 2019.

This is a part-time position that will require flexible hours including nights and weekends. The internship is unpaid but students are encouraged to seek college credit wherever possible.

Interns will assist the marketing and community relations departments with special event planning and execution, community outreach, fan development, grassroots initiatives, as well as gain sales experience. Interns will play a large role in building awareness and excitement for the organization at all of its events and player appearances. A successful applicant will demonstrate strong organizational skills and along with creativity, initiative, resourcefulness and an ability to collaborate with fellow team members to achieve departmental goals.

Job Responsibilities:
Assist & support the Community Relations Manager and Account Executive with tasks including, but not limited to:

Marketing & Promotions

· Assist with coordinating and attending local events as liaison of promotions street team

o Includes set up and tear down of display booths, distribution of marketing materials and data collections

· Assist with social media awareness for mascot and dance team

· Assist with designing & writing content for advertising collateral

Junior Hounds

· Coordinate and attend Junior Hounds youth clinics (mostly Saturday mornings)

Foxes Dance Team

· Assist with promotion of dance team pre-audition clinics

· Help facilitate pre-audition clinics

· Assist with promotion of dance and mascot team auditions

· Help facilitate auditions

o Data entry of audition applications

o Assist with collection of application fees

Job Qualifications and Requirements:
The ideal candidate...

- Must be willing to move to or currently reside in/near Charlotte, NC.

- Must be able to commit to the Charlotte Hounds, including long work days, especially in the four weeks prior to the season opener. This includes working evenings, weekends and/or holidays as required throughout the period of internship.

- Be energetic, detail orientated, punctual, and able to multi-task in a fast paced and exciting environment.
- Be self-motivated and thrive under pressure in a fast-paced work environment while exercising organizational, analytical and time management skills;

- Have strong interpersonal skills that complement a proactive, solution driven, team-oriented work ethic.

- Have a strong ability to foster relationships with a wide variety of individuals from entry level to C-level executives.

- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Spanish is a plus.

- Be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs as needed.

- Have valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation to commute to main office or event location.

- Be proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint), internet software, various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
