The Marketing department is tasked with generating and converting demand for all Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series and IRONMAN events in North America, affiliated brands and products, creating value for customers, and profitable growth strategies for the business.
This Director of Regional Marketing position is focused on leading the team of Regional Marketing Managers who are responsible for designing strategic, overall event marketing programs that deliver participants against budgeted athlete targets. The Director of Marketing brings strong leadership, project management skills, creativity, multichannel thinking, organization, analytical aptitude, teamwork and confidence to address every challenge and opportunity that presents itself.

This full-time, on-site role reports to the Senior Director of Marketing and is based at the IRONMAN World Headquarters in Tampa, Florida.
Oversee and develop team of regional marketing managers who are in regional offices around the country
Responsible for helping Regional Marketing Managers meeting and exceeding their registration and revenue goals
Manages marketing budget, measuring ROI and efficiency of spends
Knowledge and background planning and facilitating of media buying for print, radio, out of home and other traditional media in addition to digital advertising and new media placements, either through media agencies or direct negotiation
Collaborate with design team on marketing collateral; provide creative direction depending on audience and event collateral type
Plan, develop, and execute and brand-wide promotions from inception to execution
Monitor, analyze and report registration trends and forecasts for all North American events
Manage, update, and circulate weekly marketing documentation including marketing plans, opportunities, and challenges
Partner with CRM team on to coordinate email segmentation, creative, copy and scheduling
Work with Global Partnerships team to execute sponsor marketing deliverables
Internal departments to execute all ancillary marketing deliverables and objectives
8 - 10 years marketing experience with 2+ years leading a team
5+ years experience with or exposure to digital marketing including search, display, social media and CRM
Excellent strategic and analytical thinking capability
Strong attention to detail
Excellent influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to advocate for change in any environment among peers, managers, executives, and outside partners
Superior time management and prioritization skills, with the ability to fluidly transition between managing the work of others and being an individual contributor
Possess a goal-oriented approach, with the desire and capability to track activities to business metrics and an overall plan. The success full candidate has a demonstrated desire to conceptualize, execute, and report on complex integrated marketing programs
A passion for an active lifestyle is a plus
Ability to work some weekends and non-traditional hours
Ability to travel 15%+
