USA Swimming is the National Governing Body for the sport of swimming in the United States.  We promote the culture of swimming by creating safe and healthy opportunities for athletes and coaches of all backgrounds to participate and advance in the sport through clubs, events, and education.  Our membership is comprised of swimmers of every age and ability, all the way up to the Olympic Team, as well as coaches, officials, and volunteers.

USA Swimming is responsible for selecting and training teams for international competition, including the Olympic Games, and administer competitive swimming in accordance with the Ted Stevens Olympic & Amateur Sports Act.

Job Summary:
The Manager, Program Operations is a position that requires multi-layered project experience, proficient event management skills, familiarity with website management principles and practices, and the ability to collaborate across the organization. This position is responsible for operations and logistics of Sport Development programming, developmental camps, clinics, and workshops, including the delivery over multiple channels such as in-person and online platforms. The Manager, Program Operations will also assist in organizational wide programming and be able to handle planning of multiple events simultaneously.
 
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Oversight and responsibility for the entire planning life cycle of USA Swimming camps, conferences, coach clinics, webinars, virtual presentations, and resource management provided to USA Swimming membership.
  • All operations of Sport Development camps, including National Open Water Select Camp, National Diversity Select Camp, National Select Camps, Zone Select Camps, and Regional Diversity Select Camps. 
  • Collaborating with team members and assisting with the development of camp curriculums and staff assignments to ensure camps are productive and beneficial for attendees.
  • Manage operations from contract development through execution for special programs, including leadership events, National Age Group Summit, Club Presidents’ Summit, Licensed Swim Club clinics and conferences.
  • Assist with planning and executing the Annual Business Meeting, USA Swimming Workshop, and the Club Excellence program.                  
  • Manage all aspects of regional coaches’ clinics, both in-person and virtually with assistance from designated staff members, including site selection, scheduling, contract process, event design, marketing through USA Swimming Communications department, registration, evaluation, and post-event wrap-up.
  • Work with facilitators on curriculum and format materials as needed.                     
  • Continually improve USA Swimming’s offerings in the virtual space.
  • Create avenues for USA Swimming members and employees to easily access information and resources. 
  • Develop, implement, and maintain coach mentorship programs.
  • Research opportunities for growth to expand resource offerings to USA Swimming membership.
  • Support USA Swimming diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts through the incorporation of USA Swimming DEI elements in all events, camps, and programs
  • Work with information technology (IT) on various IT and website programs.
  • Assist all areas of the department on program operations related functions.
 
Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in non-profit administration, event management, hospitality, related field, or equivalent
  • Master’s Degree is preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in multi-layer event planning
  • Experience in planning sports camps and programs preferred
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 30% of time
  • Knowledge of the sport of swimming preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience managing independent contractors, including contract oversight and follow through
  • Management of event, websites, web-based programs, social media, online education systems, or project/program management
  • Willing to relocate to Colorado Springs, CO
  • Ability to learn and follow internal processes
  • Excellent verbal, organizational, and written skills 
  • Detail-oriented, self-starting
  • Strong leader with people management skills 
  • Technical skills: computer skills including Word, Excel, HTML, and Powerpoint with embedded video, web design, familiarity with web based applications including Zoom, Adobe Connect, Microsoft PowerBI, Qualtrics, and Cvent.
 
Salary & Benefits:
  • Salary range for this position is $48,000 - $56,000 / year
  • Bonus Eligibility: Based on company performance, this position may be eligible for an annual bonus target of 7.5%
