About USA Cycling: 
USA Cycling is the national governing body for the Olympic sport of cycling in the United States and oversees the disciplines of road, track, mountain bike, cyclocross and BMX.  About the Position: 
The Marketing Coordinator will report directly to the Marketing Manager and will be responsible for the execution of marketing and branding activities at USA Cycling. This includes, but is not limited to brand management, email marketing, digital marketing, event marketing, content marketing, copywriting and campaign execution. 
 
This position reports to the Marketing Manager and works closely with the Director of Membership, Chief of Corporate Development, Chief of Racing and Events, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief of Sports Performance. 
  Core Responsibilities: 
  • Execute marketing strategies and deliverables on behalf of the organization 
  • Implement USA Cycling brand guidelines, establishing consistency and elevating brand marketing to a higher level 
  • Execute marketing deliverables for the USA Cycling Foundation via email and/or social media
  • Implement USA Cycling merchandising strategy and help coordinate the handling of merchandise at national championships with the potential to sell merchandise on site
  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager to implement a growth marketing campaign fueling membership acquisition and retention 
  • Work closely with the National Events Team to implement effective concepts designed to increase awareness, participation, and attendance as well as implement campaigns around National Championships specifically when it comes to promoting registration on email and social
  • Develop and implement a variety of email marketing campaigns on behalf of various departments and divisions within USA Cycling 
  • Act as a proofreader for all content that becomes public facing
  • Design and build one pagers, educational tools, and resources for USA Cycling members
  • Other duties as requested and/or determined 
 Requirements:  
  • 1-2 years’ of experience in progressively-responsible strategic marketing roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, marketing, or related field 
  • Must have exceptional command of grammar and astute proofreading abilities
  • Experience executing marketing campaigns in fast-paced, collaborative environment 
  • Exceptional writing, grammatical, and copy-editing skills and the ability to write original content
  • Must be able to maintain multiple concurrent projects in a fast, fluid environment
  • Aptitude for creative design/production 
  • Capability to manage relationships and coordinate projects with external communications contractors (photographers, writers, etc.) 
  About You: 
  • Highly detail-oriented with superb organizational and time management skills 
  • Ability to maintain positive and professional attitude especially in high-stress situations 
  • Ability to travel (weekend work required) 
  • Industry experience within the sport of cycling, the Olympic movement, or a related field 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States 
Physical Requirements: 
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by potential candidates to successfully perform the essential functions of the role.  
  • Ability to attend in-person Cycling events, standing and walking for prolonged periods of time. 
  • Positioned in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time. 
  • Sitting for extended periods of time. 
  • Occasional standing, squatting, reaching and bending. 
  • Ability to receive information through oral communication both in-person, over video conferencing platforms, and on the telephone. 
  • Manual dexterity needed for using computer keyboard. 
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds 
  • Must have adequate vision to operate computer and complete paperwork. 
Software Experience: 
Familiarity with the following software applications (or similar) is preferred: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Facebook Business Manager; Google Analytics, email marketing software, CRM software, budgeting software 
 Travel: 
This is a remote position but will require occasional travel. 
  • 10-25% travel 
  • Occasional weekend work required 
  • Occasional travel to the USA Cycling headquarters in Colorado Springs 
Compensation and Benefits: 
This is a full-time, non-exempt, fully remote position. The starting compensation for this position is $20.00 per hour, with an opportunity for performance bonuses.
