About the Charlotte Checkers:
The Charlotte Checkers are a professional ice hockey team and a proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers. Based in Charlotte, NC, the Checkers are known for delivering thrilling live sports entertainment and engaging with their passionate fanbase. As one of the premier teams in the American Hockey League (AHL), the Checkers offer a fast-paced, high-energy environment that fosters growth, innovation, and creativity.

About the Charlotte Crown:
The Charlotte Crown are a professional women’s basketball team and a proud Founding Four Member of the UPSHOT League. Based in Charlotte, NC, the Crown are a brand-new team looking to make an impact in the community and women’s professional sports. The Crown play at the same space as the Charlotte Checkers and will be an addition for more experience in the internship.

Internship Overview:
The Charlotte Checkers and Crown are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic intern to assist in areas of strategic communications, sports marketing, ticket sales, and data analytics during the Spring 2026 semester. This internship will offer hands-on experience in the sports industry, with opportunities to contribute directly to marketing campaigns, game-day promotions, and sales strategies. The intern will gain valuable insight into the business side of sports, including ticket sales, fan engagement, and performance tracking.

Key Responsibilities:
Ticket Sales & Sales Data Analytics:
  • Assist the Ticket Sales department in tracking sales performance and customer behavior.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends, preferences, and areas for potential growth.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of targeted email campaigns aimed at increasing ticket sales.
  • Help track and organize customer feedback and surveys to improve fan experiences.
  • Support the sales team in executing group ticket experiences.
  • Fulfilling ticket requests from fans in a timely manner via phone, email, and text.
  • Contact collecting for the purpose of targeted outreach.
  • Working Games assisting the ticket sales team with fan experiences (raffles, ticket package distribution, general questions etc.)

Qualifications:
  • Must be a current student enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program (e.g., Sports Management, Communications, Marketing, Business, Data Analytics, etc.).
  • Strong interest in sports marketing, communications, and sales.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Excel, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Positive, energetic attitude with a willingness to learn.
