Location is  LA, Philadelphia, or remote*  - one would need to travel to the corporate office as requested.  

Principle Function:
The individual is responsible for oversight of global security operations and intelligence for ASM Global including, but not limited to: venue level security collaboration, anti-terrorism, loss prevention, safety, training, investigations and intelligence, threat assessments, emergency preparedness, all-hazards disaster preparedness, prevention, response and recovery, and development and application for SAFETY Act designation.  
This individual will be charged with developing and implementing a comprehensive ASM Global corporate-level and venue-based program, including standard operating procedures, corporate wide collateral, monitoring and assessing threats or attacks and the impact and possible losses that might ensue.  The candidate is expected to create, collaborate and maintain a reputation for great service in a safe, secure, comfortable environment while reducing exposure to potential liabilities.  Positive and constructive relationships with security directors at the ASM Global venues is also critical to the success of this position.  
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Working with senior leadership, develop and implement ASM’s Global safety and security initiatives including development of safety and security tools, processes, policies and procedures to prevent losses and defend, detect, and respond to threats, vulnerabilities and potential attacks.  
  • Responsible for all-hazards planning for prevention, protection, response and recovery in the event of emergencies affecting the company and its assets. 
  • Supervising and providing leadership of security operations activities including vulnerability mitigation, incident response, and risk assessments of facilities, venues and event sites for security risk exposures. 
  • In cooperation with facilities, venues and event sites, developing corrective action plans and mitigation strategies for identified threats and vulnerabilities; providing necessary safety and security training to employees, vendors and contractors; and providing written documentation of security deficiencies and corrective actions.  Working closely with venue-based security management to implement and manage security programs and procedures.   
  • Providing leadership in the development of Safety and Security guidelines, processes and procedures to protect our employees, guests, performers, facilities, events and assets.  
  • Preparing and working with designated others for ASM’s application for designation/certification under the U.S. SAFETY Act.  
  • Engaging in regular contact with,  the Safety and Security Department’s clients, vendors, employees and contractors.  
  • Establishing and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with our venue personnel; customers; and our first responder partners (fire, law enforcement, emergency management) at the local, state, federal and international levels.  
  • Providing leadership in the development of performance metrics that measure training effectiveness; documenting employee, vendor and contractor training records; and documenting compliance with necessary safety and security training requirements and other regulatory mandates. 
  • Developing and sustaining training tools, programs and systems.  
  • Maintaining monitoring and communication tools, systems and procedures to ensure effective situational awareness and crisis communication capabilities.   
  • Responsible for advocating awareness, influencing compliance with security policies, and providing solutions for business specific security issues. 
  • Developing, creating, implementing and fostering an accepted and sustainable safety and security culture.  
  • Communicating and taking personal ownership of the security strategy and success criteria for the Department. 
  • Assisting and providing consultation to venue-based Security Managers responsible for identifying security service third party vendors, negotiating contracts, and implementing new systems or procedures. 
  • Assisting ASM Global senior leadership in ensuring that the processing, adjudication and disposition of corporate personnel security actions comply with US Government and International statutory/ regulatory requirements as well as customer contractual and business requirements. 
  • A minimum education level of: BA/BS Degree (4-year) in Business, Venue/Sports Management, Criminal Justice or related field 
  • A minimum of 10+ years of related work experience, with law enforcement agency background preferred.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing high performance teams
  • Possess Certified Protection Professional (CPP) credentials
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of security methods and technical elements to protect the organization
  • Experience effectively working under pressure and managing crises
  • Active participation on security-related industry groups and advisory boards
  • Ability to effectively manage, motivate, and lead the members of the Safety and Security team, the Department’s clients, vendors and contractors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to tailor communication to various internal/external audiences
  • Ability to lead a cultural shift in security operations and awareness for the organization
  • Thorough knowledge of safety and security equipment and systems, including, but not limited to CCTV, fire alarm systems, access control systems, wireless radio communication, threat/situational awareness and social media monitoring, crisis communications and physical security barriers and protective measures
  • Experience with or knowledge of security-related legislation and regulation
  • Experience with innovative optimization of leading performance standards for Security processes
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed global company is preferred
  • This position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to standard business hours.  Ability to travel also required.
