LA 2028 is a non-profit public benefit corporation. The specific purpose of the organization is to improve and enhance the quality of life of the residents of the City of Los Angeles, California, and the surrounding metropolitan area through the hosting of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. Its core activities include: (1) planning, organization, financing, promotion, sponsorship, hosting and staging the Games, (2) raising funds to be used to plan, organize, finance, promote, sponsor, host or stage the Games, and (3) creating and implementing sustainability and legacy programs for the Games.

Job Description
  • The Senior Financial Analyst of FP&A will assist the organization's financial operations, including planning, development and execution of LA 2028 (and any related subsidiary organizations) financial strategies, and reporting processes
  • The Senior Financial Analyst of FP&A will be responsible for building reports, dashboards, and analysis tools in the Financial systems (Accounting and Planning Tools) to be used by stakeholders across the Company
  • This role will review and analyze key business drivers impacting operating performance for the forecasts, AOP, and strategic plans
  • This role will be responsible for having an in-depth understanding of all lines of business and analyze the KPI's / key drivers for each to be able to find efficiencies and provide recommendations to improve results (Sponsorships, Ticketing, Consumer Products, back of house departments, etc.)
  • The Senior Financial Analyst of FP&A will play a key role in developing annual budgets and financial plans for the future of the organizing committee, while emphasizing the values of integrity, excellence, optimism, collaboration, and inclusion in all forms

Job Responsibilities
  • Build complex and dynamic financial models for the various lines of business (e.g. Ticketing and Pricing Models, Sponsorship P&Ls, Merchandise Sales Category tracking, Youth Sports Initiative KPI reporting, and various others) to support frequent business plan updates and analysis for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Help maintain the Lifetime Business Plan for the Company to ensure a profitable 2028 Games.
  • Assists in all aspects of the finance function, including cash forecasting, value-in-kind valuations / reporting, operational budgeting, and financial reporting to achieve fulfillment of the objectives and financial goals of the organization.
  • Consolidates and provides insightful analysis for the budgets and forecasts (together with any related subsidiary organizations) that align with annual and long-term strategic plans.
  • Provides recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities and ensures the Company maintains a strong positive cash position through cash flow and VIK modeling and analysis.
  • Helps manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and reporting for LA 2028 and any related subsidiary organizations.
  • Develops tools / systems to provide critical financial and operational information and recommends actionable improvements to ensure the integrity of the company's financial information, systems, operations and strategies.
  • Partner with Accounting team daily for various matters, including actuals vs. budget analysis.
  • Prepare executive level presentations to be used for Executive Management and Board of Directors.
  • Ad-hoc analysis and projects.

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field (MBA optional)
Functional
  • Proven experience as an Analyst of FP&A with excellent references
  • Minimum of 2+ years of FP&A experience
  • Hands-on experience with creating and building complex financial models
  • Very strong analytical skills including financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting
  • Experience with large scale ERP systems preferred
  • Must possess expert-level Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Office application skills
  • Must have solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized
  • Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to patiently and efficiently perform in a fast-paced environment and handle and manage multiple workloads, priorities and deadlines
  • Possess personal drive to start a project and see it through to completion
  • Works with key stakeholders in the planning processes, and provides appropriate and timely reporting of results
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong relationship building abilities
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical issues to non-technical people
