Communications/Community Relations: Media/Public Relations Servicing
The Miami Open presented by Itaú is looking for a highly motivated, organized and detail-oriented individual to serve as Media Manager for one of the most prestigious tennis events in the world. The Media Manager will report to the Director of Media & Public Relations and will assist in the execution of the tournament’s public relations plan. The 2020 Miami Open will be played March 23-April 5 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL. The 14-day combined event is owned by IMG. The Miami Open is one of nine ATP Masters Series events on the ATP calendar, a premier-mandatory event on the WTA calendar, and features the top men's and women's tennis players in the world.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Pre-tournament set-up of all press areas including Media Center, Interview Rooms, Media Dining, TV and Radio Booths, Media Credentials and Photographer areas.
  • Oversee, train and schedule a team of four Welcome Desk workers
  • Coordinate distribution of press releases, match statistics, interview transcripts and daily schedules to attending media
  • Oversee the archiving of original transcripts, scorecards, draw sheets and schedules
  • Oversee Newspaper order and distribution
  • Oversee clipbook creation and distribution each morning
  • Coordinate nightly Media Happy Hours
  • Coordinate Daily Autograph Signings
  • Serve as liaison with other tournament departments including volunteers, security, cleaning and catering
  • Set-up and monitor seating for press in stadium, grandstand and all outside courts
  • Order credentials and uniforms for personnel working in media areas
  • Oversee interview and event announcements in media center
  • Oversee the distribution of media tickets during tournament
  • Assign media seating for men’s and women’s finals
  • Coordinate airport pick-up of ITWA members
  • Assist in scheduling transportation of players and media to off-site media events
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • College degree required
  • Event management and media relations experience preferred
  • Patient, organized and self motivated
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Must be team-oriented
  • Must have good time management skills
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Available to work long hours and weekends

Start-End Dates: February 4-April 6, 2020
Compensation:
$15 per hour
