Position Summary
The Carolina Panthers are seeking to hire a Senior Software Developer with a passion for football to help maintain an enterprise application framework and implement that framework in end-user applications.  Main responsibilities entail scoping, designing, developing, testing and supporting software applications to adhere to internal requirements in support of Football Operations, including Coaching, Pro Personnel, Training Staff and College Scouting.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Develops, implements, and documents new systems for football, including football operations and coaching, using contemporary programming environments and platforms, including database and visual systems.
  • Gathers requirements and analyze requests by communicating with users across departments.
  • Works with other members of the Football Solutions Department to collaborate on system design and assist with other duties and projects as required. 
  • Maintain and modify current systems that support football operations
  • Writes and modifies queries and reports; provides training and instruction to users on appropriate methods for extracting data and reports; assists with data migration, exports, and imports.
  • Assists with quality control and security of existing and new systems; audits existing systems for security weaknesses, and improves functionality and security as needed; documents existing processes and practices.
  • Attends training and performs self-study to keep expertise on computer systems and development environments current.
  • Assists with training camp moves and other required relocations.
  • Managing project timelines and tasks.
  • Training staff on software use.
  • Determine process improvements, best practices, and develop new processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field (computer science, engineering, etc.)
  • 5+ years professional software development experience
  • Proficient in C#, Java or similar object oriented languages
  • Proven experience with SQL, MySQL or similar backend scripting languages as well as understanding of relational database schema design
  • Familiarity with source control
  • Has knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the software development field.
  • Highly refined system troubleshooting skills required.
  • Must be flexible to work weekends, nights and/or holidays including when necessary
  • Must pass pre-employment screens.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in Microsoft Visual Studio for application development preferred.
  • Experience with SQL Server preferred.
  • Exposure to Azure Cloud Services/Dev Ops is a plus
  • Exposure to DevExpress is a plus

Physical Requirements
  • Sitting at a desk and computer for long periods of time.
  • Bending, standing, reaching, kneeling, and lifting technology equipment and office materials.
  • Walking throughout the facility, sometimes for an extended period of time.

Work Environment
This job operates mostly in an office environment and outside in a stadium facility at times which may include inclement weather conditions.  Some travel may be required at times.
