Summary:
Spurs Sports & Entertainment is seeking an entry level candidate willing to learn how to take the skills acquired in school and apply them in a professional setting.  In this position, the candidate will gain a better understanding of the role that Human Resources plays within an organization.  The candidate will provide a variety of clerical, coordination, and administrative activities in support of the department and will focus on the areas of compliance, recruiting, onboarding/orientation, employee benefits, and file maintenance.  In addition, we are looking for an individual that will also be responsible for assisting in the development and execution of various projects and in the completion of all office duties as delegated by the HR staff.   

Dates of Employment
  • Start Date – November 2019
  • Finish Date – April  2020

Pay:  $7.25/hr

Hours/Week:  29hrs/week

Responsibilities:
  • Support organizational compliance by conducting audits of personnel files and assist with department filing to maintain compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Provide a positive employment experience by assisting with the hiring and on-boarding process for new staff by preparing new hire paperwork, scheduling new employees for orientation, assisting with orientation.
  • Support employee requests and deliver quality solutions, or advance requests to a more senior team member to develop problem solving skills.
  • Present to the HR team on a specific project (TBD), or on experience and goals met during internship.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program or higher with a concentration in Human Resources, Organizational Development or related discipline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Power Point suite and other computer skills required.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and support multiple high level positions.
  • High level of interpersonal/social skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information.
  • Demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Positive relationship aptitude required.
  • 1-2 years of customer service experience required.
  • Social Media experience a plus.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to build trust to work independently.
  • Stand/Sit/Walk for long periods of time.
