Sponsorship Sales & Activation: Sponsorship Services/Activation
Purpose: The Manager, Sponsorship and Athlete Marketing is responsible for generating new business through the procurement of sponsorship and athlete marketing opportunities with national and regional brands. This revenue-generating role is responsible for selling integrated partnerships that can include athlete-centric marketing campaigns, athlete appearances, branded content and production services.  This role will also be tasked with developing partnership opportunities with national brands, on behalf of our partner Players Associations to better serve the athletes these associations represent. 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Prospect, research, develop proposals and close sponsorship and athlete marketing deals through cold-calling, appointments, networking, and other effective sales processes
  • Develop new business for OneTeam Partners by identifying and pursuing new and unique partnership opportunities for brands
  • Be on top of current trends, researching as necessary, to identify categories and emerging companies that could present new sponsorship opportunities
  • Provide best-in-class client service for all current and prospective partners, and ensure the partnership is meeting the client’s needs 
  • Work closely with Integrated Marketing team to develop unique and valuable sponsorship opportunities 
  • Consistently meet or exceed weekly/monthly sales and prospecting goals 
  • Maintain accurate records and detailed notes on all existing and prospective client relationships and interactions through provided CRM and through regular communication with team and manager 
  • Be a student of sports, sports sponsorships as well as our Player Association partners, consistently identifying best practices and sponsorship opportunities 
  • Represent OneTeam Partners at select industry events, and seek out networking events and opportunities.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

  • Minimum 5-7 years of successful, high level national sales and/or agency experience (sports experience preferred)
  •  Strong written and oral communication skills
  •  Persuasive presentation and negotiation skills
  •  Proficiency in Microsoft programs and CRM sales management software
  •  Strong strategic and creative “outside of the box” thinker as it pertains to developing marketing and activation campaigns for small, mid and large business partners
  •  Strong client management and ability to manage across multiple projects 
  •  A passion for sports and the athletes who play them, is highly preferred
