Who are the Savannah Bananas?
The Savannah Bananas have become a national brand with appearances on ESPN, MSNBC and CNN. The team is growing exponentially after selling out their entire season and selling merchandise all over the world. We are in the entertainment business and believe we can change the world by providing the most unique form of sports and entertainment 365 days a year.

The Need for Fun
How have the Bananas been able to build such a huge following and sell out an entire season? It’s the first thing you see on our website, ‘We Make Baseball Fun.” We understand we are 100% about entertainment and our job is to put on the best show ever for our fans. From our breakdancing base coach, to the Banana Baby, to our Banana Pep Band, to our Banana Nana’s, everything we do is to create an unbelievably fun environment at our ballpark.

We believe in combining theatre and improv into a baseball game and essentially creating a circus where a baseball game breaks out.

This belief in fun has transcended throughout our entire organization. Now, we look at everything we do and ask ourselves is it fun? From the movies we produce in the offseason, to our merchandise, to our events, we look to make everything outrageously fun. This has helped us grow bigger than we ever imagined.

But now we have a responsibility to put on even bigger shows during our games and create fun 24/7, 365 at our ballpark and with the Bananas Brand.

We all need more fun in our lives. We often take ourselves and our sports teams too seriously. We believe we can be the leader in FUN. That’s our category and why people will always need us. Now we need someone to facilitate fun year-round with the Bananas. This is where you come in!

Director of Fun Vision
We are looking for someone to deliver fun at our games, in our community, at our events and with our year-round videos.

We like to think big and different with everything we do. While the Bananas have sold out 32 straight games and sold merchandise all over the world, we still have a lot of work to do. We believe we can be the leader in sports and entertainment. We believe we can be the brand where everything we do is fun and timely. We aren’t your typical baseball team. We are edgy and take risks.

The Director of Fun needs to be a fun visionary who knows how to think differently and outrageously.

Director of Fun Job Responsibilities
The Director of Fun will become one of the main characters of the Bananas. This person will be our on-field host at all of our games as well as our host at our events. This person will be out in the community emceeing outside events. This person will be one of the main characters in our videos and will potentially host their own podcast and radio/video show for the Bananas.

We will look to develop this character into not only a local celebrity but a national celebrity.

We will expect this person to map out the vision for the performers and entertainers for the season. This person will assist in the hiring, hold all the auditions and plan the scripts for each game. The Director of Fun will be expected to plan entertainment from 30 minutes before gates open until 30 minutes after the game ends.

The Director of Fun will work with the videographer and marketing team to create new ideas that grow the Bananas brand. Whether that’s developing new videos, shows or a new series for the Bananas, this person will be directly involved.

The Bananas measure everything we do based on the amount of impacts we make and the amount of people we touch. The Director of Fun will be evaluated by specific growth metrics that are created based on their impact at our events at the stadium and in the community.

The Need to Create Attention
Search Amazon and you will find thousands of books on Marketing. Search job postings and you will find thousands of jobs in Marketing. While we appreciate marketing, we love attention. Our success with the Bananas has been linked directly to creating unbelievable amounts of attention, locally, regionally, nationally and worldwide.

First the name of the team went viral and we were featured on ESPN, Yahoo, Buzzfeed, and were the #1 trending topic on Twitter. Then our Bat Dog was covered by Good Morning America, Today Show, Cosmopolitan and even a reporter in Japan.

Since then we’ve offered President Obama an internship, hosted the first ever morning Beer Fest, unveiled Dolce & Banana underwear and rented a pig to mock the Macon Bacon. Our drive to have fun and create attention has built a powerful brand that constantly stays in front of our fans.

This is how you win in today’s marketplace. You have to constantly create attention with everything you do.

Attention Vision
We are looking for someone to help make the Bananas a Worldwide brand. This person will contribute our marketing efforts year-round by creating attention.

How can we launch new events, new merchandise, new videos in a big way? How can we think like a rock band and go on tours around the country? How can we create characters like the WWE that are celebrities and have huge followings? How can we host crazy events that get the world talking?

This person needs to be a visionary but knows how to execute quickly and will map out a plan for the year to dramatically grow the Bananas Brand. The first step will be to evaluate where we stand and opportunities to grow. We will then look for this candidate to set up a plan to use our resources to plan our lightning strikes throughout the year.

You will create and build great relationships with regional and national media as you will be turned on to news, current events and social media every day, looking for opportunities for the Bananas to jump onto a story.

This position will directly impact revenue. Whether it’s setting up huge launch events to announce new products, new outrageous promotions or merchandise, or separate unique events at the stadium, this person will influence people. Public Speaking, Salesmanship and Showmanship are essential. This candidate will be promoting the brand 24/7. Most importantly, this candidate needs to think differently. Normal gets normal results. We need to think way outside of the box to get the world to pay attention to the Bananas.

This Director of Fun will be a huge role in our organization as we grow. So we are looking for serious candidates who aggressively want to make a difference in the world.
