Ryan-Sanders Sports Services (RS3 Turf) is a sports field specialty construction and maintenance contractor that handles all phases of natural and synthetic turf jobs for professional, collegiate, municipal, and high school facilities, from excavation and sub base through installation and maintenance. Located in Round Rock, TX, we are one of the state’s most trusted resources for providing superior quality of natural grass and synthetic turf sports fields. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Assist with the renovation of sports field surfaces, facilities, stadiums and complexes in different states requiring travel and overnight stays. 
  •  Construct and/or repair grass surfaces through demolition of area, rototilling, addition of soil amendments, grading, and installation of plant material (seed or sod). 
  • Maintain and/or revive damaged sports turf through repair of damaged area (remove divots, fill holes), and use of continuous over-seeding program. 
  • Prepare soil surfaces such as baseball/softball infield and mounds. Blend appropriate mixture of sand, clay, and other soils to provide appropriate surface in areas, such as pitcher's mound, home plate, or long jump pit. 
  • Repair irrigation systems including the control box, circulation pipes, drain pipes, valves, and heads. Clean head and valve boxes, complete head adjustments, and ensure a level surface around heads. 
  • Apply Pesticides through Backpack applications to control weed, insect and fungal problems. §  General landscaping of both athletic and recreation areas – work includes planting, weeding, cultivation, ground cover pruning, vine and shrub pruning, mulching, leaf pick-up, tree trimming, brush pick-up and chipping, mowing, edging, and blowing clippings off landscape. §  Maintain tools and equipment in clean safe manner and log all use as required. Maintain safe working conditions and follow (conform to) the health and safety policies in place.  
  • Must be someone who enjoys working outdoors in all kinds of weather; can work in a team environment; has ability to problem-solve; has a commitment to high quality work and attention to detail; is a motivated self-starter with the capacity to take full ownership the position’s duties; embraces professionalism and behavioral characteristics to maintain the high standards of an environment committed to excellence and an honorable moral code of ethics.  
Qualifications: 


  • Must be willing to travel 
  • Willingness to accept fluctuating schedules 
  • Exceptional equipment operating skills 
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision 
  • Must be someone who enjoys working with their hands as well as their mind 
  • The ability to obtain a CDL license (Class A) within a 60-day period 
  • Ability to communicate with team members, other employees and the general public in a professional manner.
  • Prefer a working knowledge of sports field or facility construction principles, practices and methods
