ACCOUNTING MANAGER
TRAIL DRIVE MANAGEMENT CORPORATION – Dickies Arena of Fort Worth, TX
Dickies Arena will be a 14,000 seat, spectacular multipurpose venue located adjacent to the Will Rogers Memorial Center campus in Fort Worth, Texas. The arena will be owned by the City of Fort Worth and managed by the not-for-profit operating entity, Trail Drive Management Corp (TDMC). The state-of-the-art arena, scheduled to open in November 2019, will host concerts, sporting events and family entertainment, and will be the new home to Fort Worth Stock Show rodeo performances.
Classification: Exempt Full Time
Reports to: Director of Finance
Supervisory responsibility: Exercises general supervision over full and part time staff assigned to the department. 
Overview: Dickies Arena is looking for a highly motivated accounting professional with experience in the arena industry and/or food and beverage company experience. 
Job Description: The Accounting Manager supports the Director of Finance in the financial reporting of the organization and related entities.  Primary responsibilities include management of two staff accountants, bank reconciliations, general ledger input, integration between accounting and other systems including POS, Ticketing, CRM, Payroll and Time and Attendance.   Essential Duties (include, but are not limited to the following): 
  • Manage the month end close process 
  • Record journal entries 
  • Event accounting and settlement 
  • Perform and oversee proper reconciliation of general ledger accounts
  • Assist in establishing procedures and best practices across all Accounting functions 
  • Ensure integrity of the financial statements for both internal and external reporting
  • Confirm proper treatment and compliance with statutory reporting requirements
  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget to pinpoint opportunities for improvement; analyze and report on trends; prepare variance explanations
  • Oversee daily operations of the staff accountants
  • Consolidate reporting across multiple entities and subsequent cost centers 
  • Involved in short and long-term cash management and in the preparation of detailed cash flow projections
  • Perform and oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank reconciliation activities across multiple entities 
  • Maintain procedures for capital expenditure and project management, record and depreciate assets in accordance with policy
  • Interpret operating results of the company and makes recommendations to senior management on profit improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in the annual budget 
  • Assist in forecasting and long-range planning 
  • Assist in developing and executing company dashboard and all management reports (ie. AR reports, sales reports, etc.)
  • Assist in Annual audit and tax review 
  • Assist in implementation of accounting systems and other software 
  • Assures compliance and reporting with state, county and local tax authorities, as required by local legislation, including tax collecting, reporting and licensing.
  • Establishes procedures and systems necessary to provide adequate financial controls assuring compliance with policies relating to finance, accounting, information technology functions, as well as compliance with GAAP.
  • Assist with various special projects, business process reviews and the streamlining of accounting activities
  • Ability to work nights and weekends 
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA or BS in Accounting
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Experience managing a team of staff accountants.
  • Superior excel/report writing skills.
  • Ability to attract, hire, develop, train, mentor and retain talented employees
  • Ability to hold employee accountable to timely completion and quality work results.
  • Ability to communicate with employees, clients, internal and external customers in a clear, professional and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment
  • Ability to make sound business/operations decisions quickly and under pressure
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Solid working knowledge of computer applications: Microsoft office, Accounting Software and reporting tools 
  • Solid working knowledge of other systems including PARCS, POS, Payroll and Time and Attendance, CRM and Ticketing software 
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to consistently adhere to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction.
