We are a location-based, live event and media company seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee business operations and support extensive and sustainable organizational growth. As the Chief Finance Officer, you will help define and consolidate business strategy and turn strategic plans into tactical business operations.  The ideal candidate will be pro-active, analytical and comfortable working in a high-volume environment. 

He/she will have experience with bankers/lenders, treasury, reporting, budgeting, analytics, financial modeling, and forecasting. While you are not required to have experience in the live events/entertainment industry, you must be capable of managing the logistics of a growth focused, multi-disciplined business and have experience with leading technologies in B2C transaction processing. 

As a key member of the executive management team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the CEO and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, treasury, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, property management, deal analysis and negotiations.

What you’ll do as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO): 
  • Lead the company’s vision across all levels of the organization 
  • Financial and strategic planning 
  • Manage profitability, including key metric reporting and taking action 
  • Promote process improvement in the finance department and throughout the organization
  • Lead implementation of technology-based transformation of paper-intensive processes
  • Develop budget, goals, and tactical plans with the management team 
  • Review and support high level financial, HR, and legal issues 
  • Advise and participate in expansion activities including organic growth, acquisitions, and investments 
  • Partner with the management team for strategic problem solving 
  • Provide financial analysis for use in management decision making 
  • Positively promote company culture and serve as a role model on ethics and integrity 
  • Lead and mentor the internal support team 
  • Additional tasks as assigned 

Job Requirements 
  • A minimum of a BS in Accounting and Finance; MBA and CPA would be a plus 
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, ideally with a portion within a startup
  • Strong analytic, problem-solving and quantitative skills; demonstrated ability to not only deliver analysis, but to own the analytic approach and process, derive insights and make strategic business recommendations
  • Experience with a multi-disciplined company, live events/entertainment industry experience preferred
  • Proven experience serving as a true business partner to the CEO 
  • Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting. 
  • Tenacity in the discovery, research and evaluation of any variances
  • Skill in examining, developing, reengineering, and recommending operational/organizational, financial, HR, and technology procedures 
  • High level proficiency with Microsoft Excel and related programs (Power BI, Tableau) 
  • Experience with multiple Financial and ERP systems and cloud-based programs 
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operations metrics 
  • Hands-on manager with a strong commitment to developing team members 
  • Weekends and evening work required around event schedule, as well as travel for non-Scottsdale based events, for this position
