ABOUT THE PROJECT

Syracuse Athletics and Legends announced a 10-year partnership that will integrate data and analytics, marketing, ‘Cuse Athletics Fund annual giving, premium seating, and general ticket sales initiatives into a single revenue-driven approach. Legends will manage all aspects of the ‘Cuse Athletics Fund annual fundraising program. Legends’ unique fundraising platform, an essential service embraced by higher education, identifies effective fan and donor engagement strategies to amplify philanthropic giving and other opportunities. The partnership will also ensure that the Orange build upon their legacy of supporting student-athletes in the classroom and on the playing fields. Legends will also team with Syracuse University’s Falk College of Sport & Human Dynamics to provide education, mentorship, and career opportunities to students.

THE ROLE

Manager, Marketing Content and Strategy will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support the successful implementation and completion of omni-channel marketing campaigns across all Syracuse Athletics Varsity sports to help drive engagement, ticket sales and donation revenue. The ideal candidate will focus ideating, developing and aggregating content while helping to drive email, social media and web strategy. This person track marketing campaign performance, identify insights to optimize these campaigns, and report back to our partners with recommendations. Manager, Marketing Content and Strategy will work under the guidance and leadership of the Director of Marketing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for ideating, implementing, executing and managing strategic omnichannel marketing campaigns designed to drive revenue through ticket sales, donations, VIP experiences and premium hospitality packages to meet the financial goals of the athletic department.
  • Plan, develop, and implement simultaneous paid media strategies to convert audience to directly purchase and/or drive new leads through appropriate channels including but not limited to email, web and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Create, implement, manage and optimize dynamic email campaigns through identifying target audiences, maintaining and updating emails lists, building and launching campaigns, and developing effective content marketing strategies to increase subscriber lists.
  • Analyze campaign performance through evaluating key measurables including Cost Associated per Lead, Online Marketing ROI (return on investment), Customer Conversion Rates, ROAS (return on ad spend), Cost Per Acquisition (CPA), web traffic and more.
  • Analyze and audit the e-commerce experience to enhance the consumer journey and optimize for ticket and fundraising revenue through assessing site designs, click paths, ticket delivery and more.
  • Assist in the creation, execution, and distribution of all sales and marketing materials for Syracuse Athletics ticket offerings, donation solicitations, events, communications, and experiences.
  •  Lead in developing audience-centric messaging and content that resonates with specific audience segments while ensuring all marketing materials are on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality & tone, and optimized for search and user experience.
  • Collaborate closely with members of Syracuse Athletics to ensure alignment and consistency across all marketing assets and approaches.
  • Work closely alongside Data, CRM and Analytics Manager to leverage data insights to influence current and future audience-centric sales and fundraising campaigns.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of emerging social media platforms.
  • Execute additional assigned task as directed by Director of Marketing.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 2-3 years’ experience in digital marketing roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications or a related field.
  • Demonstrated breadth of digital marketing knowledge with a strategic view on how social media programs can support search optimization, brand reputation management, and inbound marketing programs as well as paid, earned, and owned media goals.
  • Must illustrate strong interpersonal skills to gain consensus for planned campaigns, negotiate tight deadlines and unite teams with a single campaign vision and voice.  They must have excellent written communication skills, exceptional proofreading and editing skills, and a high level of understanding of marketing messaging.
  • Strong digital marketing experience is required, including the use of email and web hosting platforms and tools like Google Analytics.
  • This talented, creative, and driven marketer can easily manage multiple campaigns at once, adhering to deadlines and meeting and exceeding all campaign goals. Experience in building and integrating marketing teams and programs is a must.
  • Strong background in creative and innovating thinking and execution, with demonstrated capability for storytelling, creative content creation, and persuasive messaging.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience in marketing softwares like (Google Analytics, Google Adwords etc.)
  • Excellent time and project management with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate a high level of ownership and ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Ability to work well independently with direction and as part of a larger team.

COMPENSATION

Competitive salary $55,500, and a generous benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
