CENTURY 21

Century 21 the iconic retailer and purveyor of off-price luxury fashion has teamed with Legends to introduce a revitalized shopping experience to the Century 21st faithful local and global fans. This partnership will bring fans of the iconic brand an enhanced shopping experience in-store and online. The re-opened Cortlandt Street location will span the four main floors of the original downtown space and will offer men’s, women’s and children’s designer apparel, footwear, outerwear, handbags accessories and fragrances.

 

THE ROLE   

Century 21 is seeking a Senior Accountant to provide and support the monthly closing, process improvements and financial analysis. The ideal candidate is a CPA with 5+ years of accounting experience, a passion for entrepreneurship, and is looking to join a fast-paced organization. The Senior Accountant will report to the Finance pyramid head and will manage one direct report.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Complete monthly close of the books and records; general ledger entries including accrual/prepaid.
  • Provide training to new and existing staff as needed and serve as a resource on accounting matters.
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet and P&L supporting account reconciliations and schedules.
  • Work cross-functionally with other groups on a day-to-day operation of the business.
  • Review bank reconciliation/sales tax returns
  • Identify and implement workflow efficiencies to streamline accounting processes.
  • Create and recommend operational accounting policies and procedures.
  • Review new contracts and document accounting treatment.
  • Support external financial and sales tax audit activities.
  • Support business changes and impact on financial systems including information from feeder systems- ability to document basic requirements.
  • Special projects

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required, and CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years accounting experience.
  • INFOR M3 system experience is required, with knowledge of the financial and controlling modules of INFOR M3.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP.
  • Knowledge of internal controls over financial reporting,
  • Must have advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Detail oriented and deadline driven with good analytical, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and associates.
  • Able to present financial data in a concise, logical, and useful manner

 

COMPENSATION

$90,000 - $100,000

Competitive salary, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
