JOB SUMMARY:
The Event Services Manager is responsible for the implementation and execution of all operational aspects of events held at The Fox Theatre or other venues booked. Assists the Director of Events and Director of Facility Operations in management of all day-to day operations at the Fox Theatre and adjacent venues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the policies, procedures and applicable laws. Inspire, mentor and develop staff to deliver world class service in all aspects of the operation that delight and exceed expectations of our guests, clients and partners.
- Working directly with the Director of Event Services, manage the facilitation of the needs of clients conducting events at the Fox Theatre and other venues and locations as assigned. Represent the venue during the advance planning phase as needed.
- Support and/or lead pre-event planning meetings to execute the operational logistics in cooperation with relevant departments and personnel.
- Act as liaison between departments providing all necessary and appropriate direction, information, etc. to help oversee all aspects of the event.
- Liaison with municipal departments such as City of Detroit Police, Tactical Ops, Fire Marshal in matters related to event operations, ensuring events are operated within respective codes and ordinances.
- Provide any needed operational support to back of house for load in, load outs, and production crew. Properly schedule staff to cover facility operating hours in an efficient and effective manner.
- Advise on event cost estimating and reporting when needed while managing event costs to maximize efficiency.
- For assigned event, manage all phases of event day operations including logistics.
- Assist the Director of Facility Operations in developing operating and capital budgets for production and related needs. Provide cause for proper control and care of production equipment and manage inventories of supplies and equipment.
- In conjunction with the Director of Facility Operations, IATSE Head Stagehands and liaisoning with 313 Presents production staff, develop preventative maintenance program for production equipment and work calls.
- Support the management of guest service activities to enhance the patron experience.
- Assist with the development and implementation of training activities for guest experience staff.
- Educate staff, support part-time colleague recognition programs, and participate in developing new rewards and recognition.
- Serve as Front of the House Event Manager as needed.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, applicable certification. Minimum 5 (five) years related work experience. Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

- Detail oriented – ability to keep accurate and detailed records.

- Must have a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to problem solve.

Preferred Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Experience working in the sports and entertainment industry.
- Knowledge of CAD is preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Irregular and extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Exposure to high noise level.
- Frequent visual/auditory attention.
- Must be able to lift/carry 25-50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time; climb stairs.
