Job Title:  Associate Athletic Director, Fan Experience & Brand Development

Reports to: Senior Associate Director of Athletics – External Operations
The Associate Director of Athletics – Fan Experience & Brand Development is a key member of the Department of Athletics staff, serving as a member of the Director of Athletics senior staff, providing leadership and facilitating all aspects of the fan experience at Wake Forest athletic events.  In addition, the position is responsible for developing and implementing robust and comprehensive brand development strategy by leveraging partnerships with corporate media right holder (IMG) and trademark licensing partner (CLC).  Position has management responsibilities for Fan Experience and the Creative Video Services unit.
The Associate Director of Athletics – Fan Experience & Brand Development supports an inclusive culture while focusing on building strong, positive relationships and organizational structure that will support the University’s Athletics strategic goals and initiatives, including providing the best fan experience in North Carolina and providing value to the University, Winston-Salem and Triad communities.
Essential Functions:
●       Promotes the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program by adhering to all Departmental policies and procedures, as well as rules and regulations of the University, the Atlantic Coast Conference, and the NCAA. Ensures compliance with all applicable University, ACC, and NCAA rules and regulations.
●       Provides leadership and is accountable for day-to-day operation of Fan Experience team to create and implement comprehensive marketing campaigns for each sport with objective of increasing attendance and engaging students and external fans at all events.  
●       Accountable for all in game sponsor fulfillment and oversees the design of all in game sponsor fulfillment initiatives.
●       Identifies opportunities and activates promotions for national, regional and local groups (e.g. youth soccer league, youth football leagues, county school band organizations, faith groups, civil service organizations etc.) to participate in game day activities associated with athletic events and collaborates with sales team to enhance season, single and group ticket sales.   
●       Position also works closely with student and University organizations.
●       Creates and implements effective brand strategy that leverages Wake Forest Athletics brand throughout all athletics sponsors by managing corporate media rights holder relationship and collaborating with third party licensing partners and University Community and External Relations (CER) team.  Provides direction and guidance to licensing partners that results in increased revenue from sponsors and expands Wake Forest brand presence with all sponsors.   
●       Collaborates with ACC Network Production team that supports Fan Experience team and identifies and implements initiatives that leverage the network to improve awareness of Wake Forest brand and promote Wake Forest athletic programs and student-athletes. 
●       Ensures proactive communication and smooth delivery of services between Wake Forest Athletics and university administration related to CER and other applicable university units.
●       Serves as department liaison to Wake Forest University band and collaborates with Director of Athletic Band to ensure band, cheer and dance and mascot are providing meaningful and engaging experiences for fans.
●       Oversees the management of Fan Experience interns and athletic student groups, including the Athletic Student Engagement Council.  
●       Executes special projects, strategic planning initiatives and other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate AD – External Operations.
●       Serves as requested on campus, community, ACC and NCAA committees.
●       Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
●       Bachelor’s degree plus a total of 5 years progressively increasing responsibility experience in athletics marketing, fan experience, brand management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  
●       Superior demonstrated knowledge of marketing and brand strategies, processes and resources.
●       Knowledge of data analytics and how to use analytics to drive fan experience and effective brand strategy.
●       Knowledge and awareness of NCAA compliance regulations, guidelines and legislative process. 
●       Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. 
●       Demonstrated initiative and understanding of sense of urgency required in autonomy conference athletics. 
●       Ability to foster a cooperative environment. 
●       Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments. 
●       Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.  
●       Flexibility to travel and work evenings and weekends.
●       Ability to meet the requirements of the University’s automobile insurance. 
●       Responsible for own work.
