This position exists to generate revenue for UNLV Athletics.  Athletics ticket sales account for over 4 million dollars of UNLV Athletics’ operating budget.  College athletic departments across the country are experiencing attrition in attendance and ticket sales.  This coupled with Las Vegas’s expanding professional sports market necessitates a sales force to proactively build relationships with prospective fans to generate revenue.  This position will be charged with selling season, partial, and group tickets to the business community including categories such as hospitality, banks, law firms, and other for-profit companies.
This position will be challenged in finding new business prospects and must excel in developing executive-level business relationship.  There has not previously been a coordinated sales effort in the business to business space and as such, this position will be responsible for developing the B2B sales approach in conjunction with the Director of Ticket Sales that penetrates and expands UNLV’s reach in the business market.  As this is a new market we are pursuing, there is no existing data for leads.  This person will need to research and identify prospective companies and schedule appointments to meet with representatives.
The Business to Business Sales Coordinator will be charged with developing custom ticket package offerings and experiences based on the needs of the client and will have the autonomy to make decisions on the product sold.  Additionally, they will be responsible for strategically stewarding their clients as events and following up after events to see how their experience was.  Using this qualitative data, this position can make adjustments to their sales strategy with current and prospective clients.
