On July 1, 2009, Larry Scott joined the then Pac-10 Conference as its sixth Commissioner, succeeding Tom Hansen who had been in the role the previous 26 years.  Over the past eight plus years Commissioner Scott has led the transformation and evolution of the Conference into a nationally and internationally recognized collegiate sports brand.  In July 2011, the Pac-10 officially became the Pac-12 Conference with the addition of the University of Colorado and the University of Utah. 
The Conference has a tradition as the “Conference of Champions,” earning more than 175 NCAA team titles over the past 20 years, and has led the nation in NCAA Championships in 44 of the last 50 years. The Conference comprises 12 leading U.S. universities: The University of Arizona, Arizona State University, the University of California-Berkeley, the University of California at Los Angeles, the University of Oregon, Oregon State University, Stanford University, the University of Southern California, the University of Washington, Washington State University, the University of Utah, and the University of Colorado. 
With more than 120 Nobel Laureates across all of its campuses and 503 NCAA Championships, the Conference is synonymous with both academic excellence and athletic success.

Position Summary:

The Pac-12 Manager, International will play an essential role supporting the growth of Pac-12 Global. The Pac-12 Manager, International will collaborate with the Pac-12 Conference team and outside resources to execute strategies and plans to promote the Pac-12 Conference globally, while also integrating and supporting the interests of the member institutions through Pac-12.  Primary initiatives include international competition events such as the annual Pac-12 China Game, international distribution of the Pac-12 Networks, and academic-based collaborations with international partners.  He / She will play a vital role in enhancing the Conference’s visibility at global level in an effort to continue to increase the brand prestige of the membership.  The ideal candidate must exhibit a high level of ability in project management, interpersonal skills, and leadership. 

Major Responsibilities:

-       Lead and assist with project management of Pac-12 Global events such as the Pac-12 China Game and international foreign-tours supported by Pac-12 Global
-       Assist in managing existing relationships with key international partners, including Alibaba Group, Federation of University Sports of China, and other corporate, government and education stakeholders
-       Lead and assist management of international distribution partners of the Pac-12 Networks, working closely with internal and external stakeholders on effective delivery of content
-       Lead research and help develop new strategic partnerships and opportunities with global sports federations, state councils, education institutions, and international media companies
-       Influence and motivate Pac-12 key stakeholders with the Pac-12’s international initiatives
-       Facilitate all official Pac-12 Conference visits to international locations, as well as international stakeholder visits to the Pac-12 headquarters and member institutions 
-       Create and present conclusive presentations 
-       Assist with budgeting and tracking of global program
-       Assist with development and execution of partner activations in conjunction with overseas Pac-12 Events

The successful candidate must exhibit a passion for intercollegiate athletics and ability to pursue innovative opportunities for the Pac-12 while upholding the Conference’s rich traditions and academic heritage.

-       Fluent in Chinese Mandarin language and writing
-       Highly pro-active, results driven and motivated
-       Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a diplomatic communicator
-       Comfortable in leading and influencing others
-       Strong Powerpoint and Presentation skills
-       Strong Microsoft skills (Word, Excel, Outlook. PowerPoint)
-       Works well with internal and external clients
-       Must be able to work independently and collaboratively as a member of the team
-       Must have a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience such as international sports marketing, business development, marketing and/or project management
-       B.A., preferably in Business Administration or Economics or related degree
-       Must be available to travel, work weekends and evenings when needed
