The Pac-12 Graphic Designer will serve as lead in-house designer and play a central role working with the Senior Manager, Events & Marketing to bring the Pac-12 brand to life through multiple platforms and mediums.  The Graphic Designer will collaborate with the Conference team and outside resources to execute strategies and plans to promote the business interests and reputation of the Pac-12 Conference, while also integrating and supporting the marketing interests of the member institutions.  

The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the enhancements of the Conference’s visibility at a local, national and global level in an effort to continue to increase the brand’s value.  The Graphic Designer will assist in upholding the Pac-12’s values of integrity and heritage all the while focusing on continuous transformation of the Pac-12 into an industry leading global brand.  

Major Responsibilities:
  • Create, design and execute all marketing campaigns and programs in conjunction with all Conference teams utilizing cross-platform creative including but not limited to print, digital, motion, and minor video editing. 
  • Fulfill all design needs including print, collateral, web, digital, social, merchandise, signage, print elements using the Adobe Creative Suite. 
  • Foster a “best practice” approach to share at the Pac-12 institution level.
  • Manage Style Guide fulfillment with institutional equipment and facilities management to ensure the brand guidelines are followed by all 12-member institutions across the 19 sponsored sports.
  • Develop new interpretations of brand standards and out-of-the-box approaches to grow the verbal and visual identity of the brand to meet company needs.
  • Create comprehensive event recaps and annual review to place media value on branding efforts.
  • Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics, maintain conference benchmarking and make recommendations on new strategies and opportunities.
  • Assist with Championship and Tournament events including event production beyond graphic design; brand ambassador, load in/out, project management, etc.
  • Assist in creation of sponsor/partner activations in conjunction with Pac-12 Networks. 
  • Assist CMO and Manager of Business Operations with various communications.
  • Develop materials for Council and CEO Group meetings
  • Serve as the Historian for Conference’s environmental graphics to procure elements for office space along with keeping all design elements relevant. 
  • Serve as project management lead with external signage and design vendors.

  • Creative and innovative
  • Adobe Creative Suite skills (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Google application skills (Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar)
  • Microsoft Office and Mac skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote)
  • Motion design and/or video editing skills, in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects 
  • Highly proactive, results driven and self-motivated
  • Excellent communication skills, a diplomatic communicator and influencer
  • Organized with an acute attention to detail
  • Sense of urgency, on the spot problem solver and dependable
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively as a member of the team
  • Minimum of 1-2 years graphic design or agency experience
  • B.A. recommended in Fine Arts, Graphic Design or similar
  • Must be available to travel, work weekends and evenings when needed and lift / carry items that are 40 lbs. or less
